I've repaired the splitter shown but splitters on track cars are "consumables".

I am interested to hear from the guys who add the splitter with no rear wing change on whether that changes the handling.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey everyone. I just ordered a new splitter from Joe Toth. He's making these splitters for the 987 cars and from what I read on ********, he makes them for several different models of Pcars.
I'm no way affiliated with Joe or his company but would like to share with fellow members/owners who might be interested.
You can search him on Facebook as well. Just search for: Joe Toth Composites

I believe these are fiberglass.
I saw Joe's thread on ******** and then found that he's selling the first batch at a discounted price on ebay. Ordered one yesterday. Now I just need to come up with the money to buy diverdog's RS wing!
shifterkartracer, did you already get the splitter?
I got mine today! Removing the stock splitters took 10 minutes, installing the new splitter 5. I think it looks awesome!
I was worried about the curb height going up my driveway. Found the high spot!
But then my daughter sent one of her scientists to help me find the low spot! Plenty of room...
looks great, hope he finds a
987.2
volunteer soon. One observation, i think it would look even better if the lip was blended in a bit more as it goes towards the wheel arch. (i.e. didn't stick out so much). Maybe it looks different in the flesh? Front looks fantastic though!
I talked to Joe today and he is considering coming onboard as a sponsor so he can interact directly with our members. If he does, make him feel welcome!
Hello folks. New to the forum. My name is Joe and I'm the one who made this
987.1
splitter. I'm an old guy who likes to mess around in my spare time. I started this whole splitter making thing by designing a piece for my car years ago and since have had requests to do other models. At present I'm between P-cars but planning is well underway and should have my
next
project by the end of the summer. If anyone has any questions or wishes to contact me, feel free my email is

Hey Joe ,Just wondering if this has had any actual wind tunnel testing or track testing with a stock VS your front splitter like the
Porsche
Front Splitters Aero Tech equipment has had in Germany ? how does this front piece actually affect the front end as far as down force goes ? It appears to be sticking out quite a bit in the front and that would act like a wing so wouldn't air go underneath and lift front end handling ? just curious about the air flow and its effect on the car . Thanks
This part hasn't been out long enough for any serious track time so the jury is still out on how much effect it will produce. This design is based on the other pieces I've done and have had good success with for the past 6 years. The only real differences are bumper contour and mounting.
Here is some feedback I received in another thread again its referring to a 996 piece but the same principals apply.
"I bought the splitter and dive planes from Joe for my 996 and I have to say the effect on the track of having both was amazing especially when the car would unweight coming over turn 1 at Laguna. The front end just felt glued to the track. The stabilizing effect both these have on the car cannot be overstated. One should probably consider more rear wing if running both the splitter and the dive planes on a
Cayman
on the track just to keep some semblance of balance.
Quality is great as well. Mine was constantly hitting the pavement yet it held up amazing well.
Glad to see you are working on a setup for the
987.2
Joe as I'd definitely consider using your stuff again, it's that good.
Rich"
Hope this helps.
I have a Toth
987.1
splitter in route and it will replace a damaged splitter on my primarily track
Cayman S
. I've repaired the splitter shown but splitters on track cars are "consumables".
I too will be interested in a .2 splitter when they are available! I am interested to hear from the guys who add the splitter with no rear wing change on whether that changes the handling.
Joe, any interest in making a rear defuser?
Thanks, Mike
A definite yes to the diffuser! Bill and I have discussed this (the black car...my first installation) and when he has time to let me play with his car again design work will start.
I am interested ! My concern is for those of us that use the car for road and some track. The furthest point from the wheels is the center middle front and that point is the most likely to hit first.
I do not know if this type of user can be accommodated by your products. I can see the dive planes as being useful to any user. How are the dive planes attached to the front bumper?
Thanks for any ideas you can share.
