Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I think we were one of the 1st few to have these beautiful systems installed on here.

The power feels awesome as well, as I'm running catless with FabSpeed headers.

It was so much easier to crawl under my Jeep and check things out.

I tried loosening/tightening the gas cap and that doesn't help at all.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2003 996 C2 cab with manual trans and 17K miles. Sometimes while sitting at idle with the car in neutral, I hear a howling sound which appears to come from somewhere behind the gas filler door compartment. When I open the gas filler door, it REALLY sounds like it is coming from right behind it. I tried loosening/tightening the gas cap and that doesn't help at all. If I give it a little gas it goes away and sometimes the noise stops suddenly on its own...any thoughts? I can't remember if it only happens when it is cold or not.
Thanks,
Allan
I purchased a Kline Innovation SS exhaust for my 02tt about a month ago from SamboTT and after a month of driving I could not be any happier with it. The Kline has an intoxicating sound, especially when you take the car through the rpm range. The sound is throatier at idle and low rpm, but literally howls and screams in the high revs. I now feel like I wasted my money upgrading my car's audio because after the Kline install I don't ever turn on the head unit anymore.
The power feels awesome as well, as I'm running catless with FabSpeed headers.
The purchase experience with Sam is the other bonus. The guy is awesome to deal with. He's down to business with no pressure and he knows his stuff. I will continue to purchase from Sam and will recommend him as much as I can. If anyone is on the fence about what exhaust to buy, do yourself a favor and highly consider a Kline from Sam.
Thanks again Sam!!
I'm no specialist on these cars but I do know the evap canister is behind that area and there may be vacuum tubes associated with it. By how you describedthe noise it sounds like a vacuum leak at that area. Pull the front wheel and wheel house and start it up on jack stands to see if you can locate the leak.

Excellent...thanks for the info. It was so much easier to crawl under my Jeep and check things out. I'll put my warranty to use and have them check it out while I get my oil leak fixed. Thanks again...I like to know what the problem may be before taking a vehicle in....
Congrats on the new harmony out of the back of the car. It's better than any music coming through your speakers. On a serious note, I have tried three different exhausts and the Kline/Sambo combo is intoxicating and a great word to explain the sound. Sam's customer service and dedication to perfection is why I deal with him on all fronts. Happy to see another satisfied customer.

Mines been on for about 2.5 years and the sound just keeps getting better.
