Having seen the condition of the stock air filter whilst putting in the K&N, i had to post the pics....I was amazed how dirty the air filter got after just 11 months of ownership.....And Porsche suggests we change it in 2 yrs (minor service)...? Am not entirely sure tht the condition of the air filter below is partly due to the de-snork..It may well be.... Now that I have installed the K&N, I shall make it a point to clean it every 6-8 months.

God in Heaven...!!! How much "blacker" do you want the filter to be before you consider it dirty...? This is my first ever filter change; hence the exclamations. Pardon the rookie...

That's not that bad, there's still several months of life left in that filter. I use my OEM filter as a back-up while my K&N Filter dries after a cleaning. I usually let it dry overnight so the OEM goes back in for a day in case I need to go somewhere.
