S-Car-Go Racing in San Rafael, CA and their response was it would be cheaper and better if I just purchased a 996 Turbo,( I forgot to ask new or used Turbo I would assume a used 996 Turbo).

I'm thinking of doing the Turbo upgrade on my C2 996, any comments, thoughts, advice ? Here are the specs : PSI engine control unit for mechanical throttle (-605) 2 KKK 24 Turbocharger 1 Intercooler 6 Injectors Sport air filter Sport exhaust system Spoiler (unpainted) Gaskets, Wastegate, Sensors, Fuel pressure regulators, Lubrification system, Airflow sensor ... Performance: 300 HP 425 HP +/- 125 HP 340 Nm 520 Nm +/- 180 Nm Bel 996

Has this system been tried and tested on the M96 engine? I don't see any parts for compression ratio reduction or reinforcement of the bottom-end. My guess is that by the time you get this done, meltdown the engine and gearbox and have repairs made, you are probably going to spend more than a trade-in for a 996 Turbo. <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

Bel996: I asked the same exact question to the guys at S-Car-Go Racing in San Rafael, CA and their response was it would be cheaper and better if I just purchased a 996 Turbo,( I forgot to ask new or used Turbo I would assume a used 996 Turbo). But they said the stock 996 engine, motor mounts, gaskets, etc. will be unable to handle the extra horsepower. Bocky '02 C2 coupe
