Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

you will always get a better deeper shine from a show wax but they only last a month at best , so decide what you cleaning regime is going to be first then buy products to suit that

I imagine there will be no particularly bad choices offered but ultimately time spent doing it well to start with whatever product you chose will save you time in the long run with easier rewashes As a well applied product on a clean surface will last longer.

+1 for Collinite 476S - it's my weapon of choice lasts months too, it does take a firm buff off if used on a fairly hot day (dries harder i find) but well worth the effort!
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

My car was lucky to see a sponge every few months but after having a full makeover including wheels refurbished, some paint then a machine polish, the body shop suggested I start using a wax.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car was lucky to see a sponge every few months but after having a full makeover including wheels refurbished, some paint then a machine polish, the body shop suggested I start using a wax. I've had a look and there are loads from reasonable to ridiculously expensive so was hoping for a recommendation for a something preferably towards the reasonable end!
Thanks
Please don't take a sponge near it. A microfiber wash mitt does far less damage. With a young family I barely get the time to clean mine either so went with a ceramic coating. Did not take long to apply just follow the instructions and then takes very little maintaining.

I would recommend this stuff.
The people at polished bliss are helpful and approachable if you have any queries or just want some advice.
If you want quick and easy then you could do a lot worse than Simoniz liquid carnuba wax from Wilko for £2.50 just apply every 2 or 3 months. Their hard wax in the gold tin is very good but very difficult to buff off.
Collinite is a good mid range hard wax - easy to apply and buff off.
I'm currently torn between proper detailing regime and something quick and easy!

wahey! We have a recommendations of a ceramic nano coating, a synthetic polymer wax and a traditional carnuba wax. That's all boxes ticked then. Sorry to the OP, you will probably get as many different opinions as posters no doubt:
I imagine there will be no particularly bad choices offered but ultimately time spent doing it well to start with whatever product you chose will save you time in the long run with easier rewashes As a well applied product on a clean surface will last longer.
Tried many waxes and this one gives me the best shine, for the longest time:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/collinite-476s-super-doublecoat-auto-wax/prod_207.html
Having said that, the Cquartz looks interesting and also a valeter friend recommends using these sealant packs:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPAGARD...ARE-PACKAGE-/123018916666?hash=item1ca47fb33a
OP remember 99% of the finish comes from the prep not the final wax etc.
you will always get a better deeper shine from a show wax but they only last a month at best , so decide what you cleaning regime is going to be first then buy products to suit that
mine is
weekly
snow foam, blackfire shampoo , dry ,and add Gtechniq C2 lyguid crystal as a quick detailer
monthly/6 weekly
snow foam , backfire shampoo, dry, Add poorboys nattys paste (blue) wax
6 monthly
clay bar, tar remover, iron remover, poorboys black hole glaze, poorboys EXP sealant , final coating of Poorboys nattys paste (Blue)
So it's best to decide if you want a Wax that will last 6 months and if so dont be upset when it doesnt shine like someone who waxes there car monthly ,it will still shine and look nice but wont have the depth that a show wax has . but some just dont have the time or inclination to wax a car that often which is why theres a market for a longer lasting wax. :thumb: :thumb:
I have tried many different waxes and products and this is where I am at now :thumb:
I've won concours with this if that helps

have tried more expensive products but always go back to this.
Thanks all,
Wow, there's a whole new world out there. Now I know what I'll be doing on a Sunday mornings!
I've read lots of posts over on the detailing forum too and I've gone for the Collinite wax plus various pads and cloths.
Cheers
Do the reading on the prep as well mate and get some good products to get the paint ready for a new coat of wax :thumb: :thumb: dont just wax straight over the tar and grime that doesnt come off with just washing :thumb: :thumb:

Oh and lasts well so that's a bonus
