I went to start my boxster and got flashing headlights only! The car had not been run for 4 days only and was operating fine when last driven. Any ideas of where to start looking for the problem?
Not sure exactly what you mean by 'flashing headlights only' or what year your boxster is but I would start with the battery. Details might be moe helpful.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply.
It's a 2007 boxster s, 5000 km. When I attempted to start it, all dashlights, interior lights, power seats worked, when I turned the key for ignition, the headlights flashed 3 times and I heard clicking noises. Thinking the battery was low, I hooked up a battery maintainer, waited an hour, tried again. This time I got the flashing lights, windows powered down (will not go up). messages from the onboard computer are abs failure and psm failure.
If the overnight maintainer does not provide enough charge to start, I will try a boost!
Could it be anything other than a battery? Very disappointing if 4 days drains a battery!

I'm not sure what all the lights flashing means, but try this...
Remove the battery leads and clean them with wire brush. I've used baking soda and a little water sometimes to dissolve the junk.
If you get a little deposit between the battery and the contacts, you won't get full amperage to the the electrical system. I've had fully charged batteries not be able to make the starter go because of this...and the contacts looked clean on the outside. Same sort of symptoms...The rest of the system seems to work, Starter doesn't work and strange things happen when you engage the starter.
Most auto parts stores sell wire brush contact cleaners that fit inside the holes like a pipe cleaner and have female wire brush ends for the battery terminals. They really can help.
Always eliminate the simple stuff first before assuming something difficult or complicated is causing a problem.
I had a similar problem on my '99 Boxster in February. Everything worked but the car wouldn't start, not even turn over. I had a brand new Interstate battery in it but ended up having to truck it to a repair shop. The shop found a shorted out wire in the immobilization module under the driver's seat.
