Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

i love my new cayman S, the only thing i hate at the moment is the soft brake pedal!? there is almost no feel in the brake pedal....i know the brakes work well...but the soft pedal doesnt feel right....im used to a nice hard brake pedal, is there a way to get this in the cayman?

POST 2Original post

If there are no leaks anywhere in the brake hydraulics: First, and most obvious would be air in the system. Flush a liter of fresh brake fluid through checking for air coming out of the calipers. Don't forget to bleed the clutch. If the above doesn't help you may have a bad brake master cylinder. I had to replace mine last weekend. Now all is good with the world. Happy Boxstering, Pedro

POST 3Original post

I also heard that exercising the ABS during a flush helps. The Porsche dealer can do this and I suspect some other shops can as well. I replaced all my flexible brake lines with Goodridge stainless steel clad Teflon (PTFE) lines and that helped on the deep brake pedal firmness. Air in the system is the principal culprit however.

POST 4Original post

Are you talking about the progressive braking or that the pedal is actually soft? I was not used to the CS pedal at first after driving an 08TT, 07 A3 and several similar cars before that. In those cars as in many others the pedal is much more sensitive at the initial part of the stroke........that is the reason for my question.

POST 5Original post

Air is not always the culprit. I had the problem & it was bled every way you could think of by me & the dealer. Didn't fix it. I went with a GT2 master & vacuum booster. I have a "porsche" brake pedal now
