Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A friend is looking to sell his Spyder. It's 2011 with ceramic brakes and PDK. It's only done 5k. Any ideas on value?
WBAC says 23k, but I think it should be double that. What says PH?
Good place to start perhaps?

(ignore the RS60 Spyders)
In general, PDK's stick around but PCCB's will at least attracted a few additional buyers. Also depends if it has the carbon buckets and PSE - without those and you'd be looking at the lower end of the price range.

Thanks for that. I'll check on the buckets, pse etc.
It'll be at least £42k privately, even with the 'wrong' seats and wheels. With the right bits in the right colour, with porsche warranty and the right buyer, could be well over £45k.
It'll need to be bought by somebody who values low mileage though. I sold mine privately in Oct 2014 and I don't reckon I'd have got a better price for it if I'd waited til now. I'm not saying prices have peaked but it'll be interesting to see how they develop in 2016.
I reckon you will be lucky to get £40k private! I sold my late 2011 manual all the right bits and PCM plus warranty with 4k miles in the peak which was summertime with also very few cars for sale at the time for £46k! Although it's winter imo prices have softened over the last 4 months and I cannot see them climbing much in the next 4 months!
WBAC are having a laugh got to be worth £30-32k trade at least!
£39k Easy peasy sale (within a couple days)
Tyre kickers, endless derogatory texts, broken promises etc etc may lead to £42k private sale
Edited to add
To be fair to WBAC, I looked at selling the wife's 2012 cayenne diesel - their simple online bid was within £150 of the best trade bid.

Thanks for the replies folks, very helpful.
It would seem my mate threw most of the options list at it so it does have the alcantara buckets, sports exhaust, chrono (not sure which). The only thing it doesn't seem to have is nav.

911 Virgin are about to take stock of a £50k version:

The description of this car is accurate having seen it. It's basically a brand new car with a few thousand miles on it. I reckon this must be the cleanest Spyder in Europe.

The car with that accolade was sold on in the summer and it had buckets and was a manual!
Be interesting how quickly the Virgin car sells although low miles it is Pdk with sports seats so IMHO £6-7k overpriced !
Thanks for all the replies chaps. I'll update when I hear from my mate.

Foxy are you the same Foxy as on the VX forum?
I would be interested in the Boxster maybe you can drop me a PM on .org?
I would if I knew who you were! Sorry
I've messaged you from here.
seems like quite a few of them have sold. The alistiar bols one, the black 911v one that had 40k plus miles and some others. So looking forward to the spring now!
spec's important. But perhaps not to everyone. After reading the PH forum, it's easy to believe that everyone in the market for a Spyder has exactly the same criteria. Additionally, the winter's notoriously average for shifting and getting the best price for convertibles. As other posters have said; wait a couple of months and prices will firm up again. There's little or no competition at the £40-50K price-point. In any guise, the Spyder is an amazing car.
Quick update - it seems my friend (my brothers neighbour actually, hence me being vague) may have px'd against a big German rep-o-barge. Will let you know if I find out the numbers (if you're interested!?).

Do people think now these are 5-6 years old that independent servicing won't really affect the values? Not planning on selling anytime soon but a brief encounter with nine excellence Horley was brilliant.
Never liked dealers to be honest, it's like they always want to stuff you. It's nice to be able to chat to the guy working on your car whilst it's going on. You learn more about your car and build a nice rapport.
I just purchased mine and the last service in the book was with a known specialist (actually the company selling) and it certainly didn't put me off.
If it had been a year old or eighteen months and it had not been serviced by the supplying dealer or another OPC then I might have given it some more thought. It'll be five years old later this year so a name specialist is fine by me.
Munich Legends look after my 17 year old E36s and I trust them more than I would a main dealer. They're 'specialists' for a reason, imho.
Picked up my 2010 Spyder on New Year's Day
It's only been on the drive home and a quick trip to B&Q before being washed and tucked up in the garage, roll on spring time.

Good to know. I used 1320 mini for my previous jcw. Used to get the oil changed regularly and all the maintence. Top guys and really used to look forward to going there.

The one for sale at 911Virgin, PDK with standard seat although hard backed and very low miles for £50k looks like its sold.
Mine's being delivered tomorrow; couldn't have timed it better as far as the weather's concerned!
Mine has more miles - at just over 15k - but a more favourable spec for me and considerably less money.
Looking forward to my first drive.
I can't vouch for the dealer but this looks a good buy if anyone is looking for a nicely spec'd manual Spyder:

Not seen red dials before.
The car is very clean but the spec listed doesn't match the spec on the car, was also originally listed 2k less than present price. As with many 2010 cars it will be due another service soon.
