Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've used the PIAA silicone wipers for years and find them utterly brilliant.
Leading evidence: 'Use piaa silicone wipers' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace back one' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Suggestion
No, some aero ones of fleebay, I'm keeping them so I can change the back one when it wears out but won't be putting them on the front.

Suggestion
I shall not be changing over to the aero- blades on my 997 unless I change the whole arm.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

With the litronics improving the front end of the 996.1, the original wipers look a bit dated. Whats the score with the Aero types on ebay:

worth while?
This is the blade they fit to the rear of the 997:
This is mine:
Porsche didn't/don't fit aero to the fronts on the 996/997

I had the same front wiper blades as GT4 on my 996. Looks-wise they are awful as the holder for each part of the actual blade is quite humped as you can see in the above picture. This was merely clearance for the original blade. Performance wise they are better than the original as they don't smear. I shall not be changing over to the aero- blades on my 997 unless I change the whole arm.

I just bought a set of Valeo X-TRM. More expensive but I found from past experiences that the cheaper ones only last a few weeks during winter driving. I then ended up buying a pair of these which are similar in quality to the bosch ones.

GT4 - Car looks great with the aero wipers! I'm glad I ordered these now. waiting for them to arrive.
For the rear, i decided on a cheaper aero wiper as I hardly use the rear wiper - this will be more for looks than anything

Don't waste your money on them for the windscreen, they don't distribute the weight correctly over the curved 996 windscreen and therefore don't perform anywhere near as well as the regular blades. They smear at the centre of the blade where they are attached to the arm because there is so much pressure applied at that point and then on the passenger side the blade does not even touch the screen at the edges fully where the widscreen curve is most extreme which is very annoying because they looked great. However they are perfect for the rear window because the screen is flatter and it helps to update the rear of the car.
I put the original style ones back on the windscreen after putting up with the blades for two weeks (I was hoping they would bed in or something but they didn't).
Once the originals pack up I think I will try the fancy silicon PIAA ones, unless anyone else has any suggestions for blade ones which work correctly?
Exactly what I did, binned the Aeros and went for the PIAA ones, more expensive but worth it. I couldn't be happier with them, very good, especially in UK downpours!
I've used the PIAA silicone wipers for years and find them utterly brilliant. Not as elegant as aero wipers, but it is function over form for me as a daily driver.
No, some aero ones of fleebay, I'm keeping them so I can change the back one when it wears out but won't be putting them on the front. Are their some better quality ones I can try which distribute the preassure better? I'd like to continue with the blade wiper idea but they have to work well.
