Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Help! I love my 996 but have long legs. Is there any way to extend the seat rail? What do really tall guys do? Mykulh

POST 2Original post

I installed the GT3 console for additional knee room. At 6'4" it helps. I ordered the parts from Suncoast Porsche. There is a carpeted piece that replaces the forreward center console and a plastic piece to cover a whole in front of the shifter.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It looks like a very well executed installation. How much did that run you? I was more interested in expanding the rails to get the seat back as far as possible. Did you explore that option? Thanks for your response. MH

POST 4Original post

I do not recall the exact price on it but I am sure it was less than $150 for the parts. I did the install myself. I have seen the question asked before about extending the rails but I have never heard of anybody doing it. For me the seat goes back plenty far, as it is a sports car I do not like to sit to far back. My room issues were more associated with the fwd center console sticking me in the upper portion of my shin all the time. I had nothing but storage in the console and I never used it so I do not miss it at all.

POST 5Original post

You could get your legs shortened a few inches... bet you were just waiting for some nut to suggest that!
