Used both Autoglym and turtle wax roof proofers and niether last that long.

It's easy to use and gets lots of crud out of the black roof in the cleaning stage.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Well thumbs up for Autoglym, it has worked a treat.
Whats the best waterproofing agent you can use on the roof can, mine has none, it rains , it soaks it up! does not leak or cause probs inside, just dawned on me that perhaps it should run off like a nice new shiny rain coat! So as its :lightening: cats n dogs outside i thought id look up some water proofing agents .. anyone any experience?
thanks
I have found teh Renovo proofer on fabric hoods to be a difficult to apply. I applied on the wife's red roof and ended up with a very patchy result. I think I will try the Autoglym product next time.
I should say though that I used the Renovo Vinyl Proofer on my old MX5 and that worked fine with great results.
I've used both.
Autoglym was far better IME. It's one of their only really GOOD products. Buy the twin-pack cleaner and sealant (around 20 GBP when I last bought a pack), FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS  (you must let the sealant dry properly) and the results are impressive AND last for at least a year if not two.
Plus 1 just don't let the 2 nd pack dry on the paint as it's like a wax and takes ages to remove after
As said read the instructions and you won't go wrong
I also use the AutoGlym product on our Z4. It's easy to use and gets lots of crud out of the black roof in the cleaning stage. Application of the proofer is also just as straightforward.
Once treated, the rain then beads up on the fabric like freshly polished car bodywork.

Well thumbs up for Autoglym, it has worked a treat. I had a slight stain in the center of the roof that has been ther from when I bought the car, you could see a light patch arround it where it has=d been scrubbed at, Autoglym has taken it straight out and left no sign of it or the lightpatch, it ooks as good as new.
Used both Autoglym and turtle wax roof proofers and niether last that long. Certainly no longer than a few months. Perhaps my car cover which I always put on does something? But then one can argue that my car with the cover is more protect from the elements.
Bought Renovo after hearing some good things. Paint brush application seems a pain, but will just pour into a spray bottle and test. Also got the Renovo renovator, which is a dye to bring roof back to life...
I used Renevo last week and after just a single application I get nice globules of rain that look like I would get on a waxed bonnet.
Having done all of that, i have now decided to put the hard top on in any case but I suppose I now know it's ready to go for next spring.
my tip:
use a soft paintbrush to apply.
