Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi all, I'm one of those (us :-/) boneheads that let my battery go dead in my 2011 Spyder. I managed to get to the battery via the fuse box emergency release and recharged the battery. I removed the battery cables to do the recharge. Put it all back together and things were great until I tried to remove the key. Everything is in good working order but the key will not come out without using the metal pin thingy. I know this topic has been addressed before but I can't find something quite like my situation. Any suggestions? A dealer required? Thanks! Dave M.

POST 3Original post

As I stated, there is no problem getting the key out with the wire thingy. The problem is that I have to continue to use the wire thingy every time I shut off the engine to get the key out. So I guess the answer is "yes" to your question. My question is why do I have to continue to use the wire thingy? Dave
