Hello,
I just had Recaro seats, roll bar, 6 point harnesses, and quick release steering wheel installed on my '07
Cayman S
with sport chrono and
PASM
. The MFD says
PASM
and PSM are disabled. The installer says sport mode will default on which is OK with me. It feels like sport mode is engaged. How do you know other than by the seat of pants? Can manual control be re-established?
This does not make sense. Installing all of that should not change
PASM
or PSM. It should not make sport mode stay on as default either. I have all of that except for the quick release steering wheel. They have to use a Durametric Pro of
PIWIS
to disable airbags and seat weight sensor for those mods, but that's it. They must have changed some other settings but I don't know why they would have.
Orbit Racing recently installed a quick release wheel in my 2006 CS track car. They ran into the same problem. The cause was the removal of the "internal" OEM "hub" which has electrical connections. It would not fit with the quick release unless you cut off a couple of plastic tabs. They cut them off, it fit and the PSM warning was removed. You might be able to call Steve at Orbit to walk through this in more detail.
While I have I PSM/ABS bypass switch I did want to retain the ability to keep traction control on a wet track.
Biggal76 - you suggest that durametric (pro) can handle the seat weight sensor error and passenger side airbag light. Do you (or anyone) know the protocol for this in the pro software? Thanks in advance.
Not offhand. It was not difficult though. Plug it in, turn on the key. I think that there is a whole airbag menu. These are the thoracic airbags. Disable them. The weight sensor may be in the airbag menu, but I think it is also in it's own menu with a 3 letter acronym, AWS or something like that.
Just had the same problem after installing my OMP wheel with MOMO hub-
PASM
, PSM, and ABS failure.
Will be taking it to my
Porsche
tech shop tomorrow and will let you know if they were able to remedy the fix and how.
cheers
