Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Ok - I have read most of the threads (i think) on this. Looks like I need to bite the bullet and replace the sensor in my Drivers side rear. I was going to buy the sensor online and then have someone remove tire & install. I don't really want to pay the dealership price but on the other hand I will be really pissed if the guy doing this scratches my wheels. Does anyone here have any recommendations on where's the best place to get this done - SF Bay Area. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

You didn't mention what year car but it seems if '07 or older, they're just dead. I just replaced all mine with the ITM units from OE Wheels, you may have seen the post. They're working perfectly. All my tire work is done at a small Ma and Pa shop with a machine that has all the plastic blocks on the working surfaces. I've had a lot of tire work done (two sets of wheels, summers/snows and 72k miles) and never an issue. Are you close to a tire change? If '07 or older, I would do them all. C.

POST 3Original post

I bought new Forgestar F14s last year for my car and new TPMS from tire rack . The 19in bridgestone potenzas are quite a rigid tire without much give, I would definitely not want to have my rims scratched, so try a goodyear , at least you know a big company like that would make good if they scratched anything. I had my shop do it, and it was definitely a job.

POST 4Original post

Custom Alignment down in Mountain View has a pretty good rep, used to anyhow. I haven't been there is several years but I haven't heard anything bad about it either.

POST 5Original post

Thanks so much for the recommendation - Custom Alignment were great. Really took care of both myself an my wheel. I bought the new sensor from Suncoast - $128 + $15 for the Valve. Custom Alignment installed and balanced wheel for $50. Was concerned to start with as the new Sensor was Orange and the old one was Grey. After driving for approx. 10 miles everything re set - Perfect

POST 6Original post

I too am just getting the "TPS Inactive" error message. I think I'm due to replace them ( 2007 Cayman S ). It does not say which one is having a problem, so I'll probably replace all of them. I don't know who locally would change my TPMS if I bought my TPMS elsewhere. Actually, not sure if the local shops sell TPMS .

POST 7Original post

Most tire shops will change out your sensors even if you bring them. We can get you hooked up with how ever many sensors you need. We will save you a ton of cash plus you get FREE SHIPPING so you would have then in no time!

POST 8Original post

Jon, Curious, which ones would be the correct model TPMS for my car? 2007 Cayman S with 19" (I need to check what my stem color is). Trying to find reviews from forum members who have purchased your sensors. Thanks

POST 9Original post

I sent you a link for the sensors that will work for you in your message box. If you type TPMS in the Search box you will see lots of post from people who have our sensors. BEST price and OUR customer service is #1 !!!! If you need help you can always call me [phone removed] ext 320

POST 10Original post

OE Wheels is Titan TPMS . Thanks Crispy for that feed back!!1

POST 11Original post

What's the difference between ITM, Orange and Oro-Tek? What's the brand that comes with the Cayman from factory? Thanks,

POST 12Original post

My 2007 CS is at the dealer getting all tpms sensors replaced, covered under CPO.

POST 13Original post

I did purchase the extended warranty with Mercury Insurance. I wonder if it's covered? hmm...

POST 14Original post

ITM comes with a 2 year manufacture warranty and is a programmable sensor ( battery life is not started until its programmed per-fitment) Orange and Oro-Tek are pre-programmed (from the factory) and come with a 1 year manufacture warranty. Fitment Guarantee plus FREE Shipping Beru was the factory sensor they sold out to HUF We will have OEM HUF sensors in a few days. They are on the way from GERMANY!!

POST 15Original post

Titan, Any idea on what the HUF sensors will cost? I need a set but if they'll be close to the ITM price I'll wait.

POST 16Original post

I ordered some Titan TPMS sensors and took them to a local shop. They said that usually they copy the ID from the original TPMS sensors and put that ID on the new sensors, but their reader won't work with the Titan sensors. Is that needed? Can I just have the shop install the sensors and my Cayman will automatically pick up the new sensors once I go through the setup?

POST 17Original post

Hi all! I have a 2008 base Cayman, whose TPMS batteries have pretty much bought it. I just want to disable it, per PIWIS /durametric instructions posted elsewhere. I'm in Houston, TX, and can't find ANY Porsche dealership in the area willing to do it period. There are a few repair shops willing to, for an arm and a leg. Anyone in the Houston, TX area willing to help me out, please?! Thanks much

POST 18Original post

The HUF sensor start around $80 and go up from there. We have them in stock and ready for FREE SHIPPING!!! Also we have upgraded stem options!! Check it out!!!!

POST 19Original post

No that is not needed. Just have the sensors installed and do the relearn procedure and drive the car. You might need to wake the sensors backup before doing the relearn. Deflate the tire let sit 5 mins then reinflate the tire to the required pressures on the placard. If you need help please call me!

POST 20Original post

Went to your website and am confused. For my vehicle, you list numerous TPMS (various manufactures) some using 433 Mhz and Huf using 315 Mhz all for the same model year range. That has me confused. I have a 2007 Boxster S and as I understand, OEM was Beru (now Huf) at 315 Mhz. Is that correct and if so, why does your site list the other brands for the same year but at 433 Mhz? Thanks for your help. PS. Anyone out there try the Huf TPMS in there Boxster or Cayman? Any issues? Thanks

POST 21Original post

I just replaced my 07 Caymans TPMS w/ Huf and they work flawless.

POST 22Original post

Depending what spec car you have. The vin number is the only way to tell what MHz you need! Call the Stealership with your vin and ask what is the Part number or MHz you need for your car. For fun ask how much the sensors are. If you have other questions please call or PM me. We will get you taken care of!!

POST 23Original post

Thank you!! Glad we could save you some MONEY!!!

POST 24Original post

Question for Titan. Can I put sensors on HRE 547 wheels? my valve stems are very thin not like my OEM 19s. 07 Cayman S . send me a link to the sensors if you can.

POST 26Original post

Hi Jon I have a 07 base boxster. passenger side tpms went off. Is it okay If I order 433 hz titan tpms ? do I need to provide with any other info such as tpms id or such . or it simple install - then wake it up by deflating. and its up and ready by itself?

POST 27Original post

You should still double check with the dealer that your car is using 433MHz (my 2007 Cayman does). Unless you know the working ones are newer, you should probably replace all 4. You need a tire guy to install them(they mount on the wheel inside the tire), and then your TPMS should relearn the sensors. Relearning has to be done with the car running (and maybe in motion, I forget) and usually takes a few miles(1-10). If all goes well that's all. If something goes wrong it can be a real PITA.

POST 28Original post

It took me 3 to 4 phone calls to dealers to verify the Mhz for my 2008 Cayman S . They required the VIN number to verify which Mhz I required. Evidently Porshe used both 315 and 433 Mhz for the TPMS . I was assured that just driving the car would re-set the system. I am stuck doing the same procedure for my Range Rover, and was told I needed proffesional assistance to make the system work. By the way my dealer is now using TPS from tire rack , about $600 instead of $1,350 from Porshe. He has no trouble. He was unaware of Titan.

POST 29Original post

If you need professional service to make them work you are likely one of a very few that did. Something else is wrong. Either you have the wrong units or perhaps your receiving unit has problems. Thousands have had new installed and driven off with no problems other than perhaps a relearn process and that's even the exception. The biggest problem was when old units were stored in the car on the way home from installation and they had enough life to confuse the system. Good luck.
