Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

I seem to recall reading something similar, related to the actual light switch itself. Perhaps it's the contacts needing a clean in the switch? If you do a search, I think you'll be able to find the thread on it. I think Richard H also contributed on it, so do a search with his name as author.

POST 3Original post

As GD says, the light switch is the likely culprit. It's a very common problem.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers any quick easy remedy??

POST 5Original post

New switch, I'm afraid. 996.613.535.00 - £67.28+VAT Don't leave it too long. I have know then to fail when driving, and it can be pretty hairy.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lol funny that i pulled full beam on other day doing about 70 in a country lane and they all went off, not good!! cheers

POST 7Original post

Pull the knob out and you will see a small brass clip on the underside which you release with a screwdriver. Undo the THREE torx screws (21) - there is one in the light switch recess. Unplug the switch (31) and the light level control (not shown) if you have it. Undo the nut (26) and the switch comes out.

POST 8Original post

It's been said you can get done for pulling your knob in a country lane nowadays but I could be wrong!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
