Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've just had a look at your post history Sid and it would appear that you've been looking for quite a while. Most of the regulars on here answered your queries last year and earlier this year which is why, I assume no-one has answered you today.

The market for all cabrios (not just Porsches) will be tumbling at the moment so now (or at any time over the next couple of months) would be a great time to bag one at the best possible price.
What that price is will depend upon the spec, age, mileage and history of the car. Take a look at the ads on here, on Pistonheads and Auto Trader and after you've narrowed your search down to cars that fit your requirements and budget, view them and try to get a decent lump knocked off the asking price.
It seems strange that you asking specifically about a '98 model. Have you a specific acr in mind? If, as I suspect, you're hoping just to get the cheapest car you can find PLEASE BEWARE as this IS false economy and you may quickly find yourself with a very expensive ornament if you haven't got the funds to keep it running.
Good luck with the hunt. :bye:
I can't think of any car that can beat a 996 for value, beautiful classic styling fast and reliable, whatever you get make sure it's got fpsh or independent to prove it's been well cared for, you could pay over 100k for a new 997 that looks much the same, it doesn't get much better than that!!!
