My apoligies for not saying mine is a 3.6 late December 2002 if that helps - and its side or running lights as I believe our American cousins call them that I wish to change.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess I am not the only one who's seen the so called upgrades offered on places such as fleaBay. But my reason for considering it is partly because I have also been a motorcyclist, albeit a fair weather one for many years, and I have had too many 'sorry mate, didn't see you coming' near misses than I care to recall. So, given my car is black, I tend to drive with the side light on, have resisted making like a BMW driver and welding my foglight switch to 'on' so anything that would increase the visibility of the standard sight lights gets my interest - any recommendations peeps? Ps. links to specific solutions are good, as frankly the search facility here foxes me and I am pretty IT literate :-|

Cheers for reply, but it seems to refer to indicators not side lights (on a pre facelift version). My apoligies for not saying mine is a 3.6 late December 2002 if that helps - and its side or running lights as I believe our American cousins call them that I wish to change.

POST 4Original post

If you go to page 2, the second reply, with this image: Refers to English side-lights. I know, because I fitted them!

POST 5Original post

I have those fitted in the side lights of my 993, so not directly applicable, however my view is: They produce a light colour that matches ones HIDs fairly closely, other than that, I don't really rate them. Oh, they were not flagged in my last MOT, which is a sort of plus as well i guess. They don't make use of the reflectors, the output level is pretty poor and the light does not fill the unit, giving a fairly un-natural look to the units. When i get the time I want to try higher output filament bulbs in the same bayonet fitting, but need to convince myself they won't melt the units first. There are a number of higher wattage halogen bubs available... good luck!!

POST 6Original post

Oh well, I quite like them. Nice bluey tinge. I also thought on-beam they were pretty bright (certainly lights up the garage well if I forget to turn the lights off). Having said that, the only other time they are runnning independently of the Litronics is when I leave the headlights on with the ignition off (ie popping in to pay for fuel etc at night) and see them as I return to the car.

POST 7Original post

...well, each to their own - you're certainly not the only one to rate them! now if one could buy side lights using the same LED /reflector units as they fit in SureFire torches, then I would be very interested.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ahh, shame, won't work in my car after all as it has Welsh side-lights : )

POST 9Original post

Just look above the Welsh, that first language is English. We taught the world, then the Americans ruined it.

POST 10Original post

What you need are those bulbs that have a number of LED bulbs around the outside (I think 4) and one pointing forward as these give forward illumination and light up the internal housing. Available on eBay for a nominal fee courtesy of our Far Eastern cums :thumb:

POST 11Original post

I fitted this design (of indicator bulbs) for pretty much that same reason: moss fitted these:

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

English is 'only' is the third most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish Whats more English is a West Germanic language with some Norman French in fact most of our important original legal documents are STILL in Norman French (I know cos an ex was a barrister who specialised in ancient law). The original inhabitants of this island spoke Celtic, in fact in most bars in Cardiff you cant get served unless you order in Welsh and have a blue painted torso

POST 13Original post

I was referring to when the globe was three-quarters pink. Hence the past tense taught. Currently, we can't hope to out-breed the Chinese, although I think the benefits system tried. However, what is produced doesn't tend to speak english. I knew all you Welsh were Celts.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

"Three-quarters pink', oh right, you mean Brighton ?

POST 15Original post

I thought that was closer to 90% :fight: No, this is what I mean, The Empire! (reveal to the sound of "Land of Hope and Glory") You have to watch for 85 seconds to see the rise and fall from 1492 to 2007.
