Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone have an exploded drawing of the front strut stack? My car has Bilstein Damptronics but they use the stock assembly parts. The issue I have, only on the left, is that the spring seems to bind when turning - it loads up and then lets go w/ a BOING! IIRC on my old 987.1 there was a bearing that the whole assembly turned on. Is the .2 different?

POST 2Original post

OK I just confirmed that the noise is the spring binding at the top. The lower part of spring moves w/ the knuckle but the top partially binds and then lets go. Is there not supposed to be a bearing or something at the top?

POST 3Original post

This what you were looking for? You can download a parts list directly from Porsche .

POST 4Original post

Yes, that is what I looked for. No. 11 is the bearing, although that is not an accurate depiction of the part. BTW I checked and the 987.1 is identical. I rarely throw bad parts away and looking through my salvage bin I found 2 No. 11s that were on my '06 CS. Part No. 4 comes w/ it, pretty much integral pieces.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
