I have a set of Falkens that were going on my sons AMG but we got new wheels/tires instead so I have this brand new set just sitting in the garage.

I have a set of Falkens that were going on my sons AMG but we got new wheels/tires instead so I have this brand new set just sitting in the garage. The fronts are the correct 235/40/18 but the rears are 265/35/18 instead of stock 265/40/18. I know this is about an inch shorter and it isn't ideal....but would this cause any significant issues other than the cosmetic? *corrected the rear sizes to 265's

You might check the diameter difference front to rear. There has to be a percentage difference (I don't know what it is, but I'm sure you can find out) from front to back, otherwise the computer will freak out (ABS and traction control expect the differences to be there).

The title of the thread asks about 265/35/18 in the rear, but then in the original post you say 235/35/18 in the rear, so I'm not sure which you're running. I've seen the same Falken tires only in 235/40 front and 265/35 in rear and had the same question. That's different than running 235 width square on all corners (at either 40 or 35)

tiresize.com has a calculator where you can compare tires, it shows that at 80mph the 35 size will be 3mph off on your speedometer.
