Hi there I need to decide on a PTS colour for a 992 GT3 and have narrowed it down to the colours above and I wondered if anyone in the East Midlands area had a car in any of the colours above that they would be kind enough to let me see in the metal. I’ve done paint down metal swatches but TBH I’m none the wiser and every OL image / video just confuses me even more as they just all look so different.
Alternatively any images that you think are genuinely representative would be much appreciated.
In the image the top colour is not in contention - it’s the green Taycan colour that I can’t remember the name of.
Middle row left is Amethyst Metallic / Right is Oak Green Metallic
Bottom row is L to R
Forest Green Metallic / Dark Olive Metallic / Jet Green Metallic
Amethyst Met , Forrest Met and Dark Olive Met all look very dark in the images flat on the top - when the light hits them on the vertical plane they all pop brighter.
Thanks in advance

Sorry cannot help directly, but have you looked at Rennbow?
Also, a friend had a 996 in Forest Green Metallic (I think, it's a long time ago now) and in reality it looked fantastic.
Forest Green?
In the Taycan thread a member (21ATS) just bought an oak green Taycan.
He posted a few pictures of it and it looked quite different at dusk on a truck to in the showroom etc. I think most colours do.
In that thread someone also posted a picture of forest green on a 992 I think. Out of the greens it's my favourite, but not convinced it suits pork.
Amethyst is great but does look very dark under many lights.
It seem you've narrowed it down to only Metallic PTS colours.
For me personally it would be Irish Green which is lighter and iconic.
BTW congrats on securing a PTS 992GT3 slot.
Oak Green is stunning on a Touring but not so much on the winged GT3 IMO. Of the ones above I think Jet Green suits the winged GT3 best.
If a metallic colour isn't essential then Irish Green is my personal fav.

Jet Green for the win ? Think I saw that Turbo S being delivered at my OPC a few years ago….great looking car. Although I do really like Forest Green too….

I have a panamera turbo in Jet green, can easily email over some pics as I don't have an image hosting account anymore.
That would be great - please DM me and I’ll reply with my email thanks

I’d throw in Brewster for a good flat colour - but I think I’m feeling more jingle jangle , sparkle sparkle

It is without doubt the classy shout - really nice colour
Basically it’ll either be Jet , Amethyst or Dark Olive Metallic - at least I’m done to three

Oak Green Metallic
Jet Green Metallic
Amethyst Metallic
Dark Olive Metallic
Forest Green Metallic
Totally subjective of course but what I note is many pics and replies on peoples greens, but little on Amethyst, so as I say....Amethyst is the new black (which used to be green).

Of the final three colours I absolutely agree with you 100%. Jet Green is bright and lively enough to suite the winged GT3.
I narrowed down my PTS slot to Amerthyst and Dark Olive metallic, both look black in dull conditions but seeing TGE's youtube video on a Carrera GT in dark Olive swung it for me.
My Opc had these Porsche air fresheners sprayed for me in both colours.

Pm sent.
Olive looks a bit too “dirty pond” unless it’s in brilliant sunshine.
Can I tempt you with Superior red metallic

I've been thinking about my ultimate 911 build for a couple of weeks now, and wanted a dark red colour. Saw this (as I think quite a few people have recently) and literally can't get it out of my head. Love it - wheels, chrome window surrounds, everything... But it's a touring, and somehow I can see it working quite so well with a wing!

What blue tinge?
(We all see colours differently.)
Great shade of green though. Some look very dark and drab - especially in the dull weather the UK has for much of the year - but JG is nicely vibrant.

Ha! Chuck in inconsistent photograph reproduction on the different screens we're all using and it makes this thread kinda irrelevant :-)

I've had Atlas and now Midnight, exactly as you say. If I look out of the window it looks very dull, but as soon as the sun comes out...
I do like the Amethyst, I've seen a 997 GTS in that colour. There is a 997 GT3 RS up for sale at the moment that's had a Jet Green liquid wrap and it looks wonderful in the pictures.

Funny how your last two are in my final few - great minds - when do you get yours ?

Have to say that really looks good - you’re not bringing it to the Porsche meet at C&M in March se e you by any chance ?

@RSVP911 - here are 3 pics showing how different the Amethyst can look - same car!
This is most representative of what it normally looks like:

Here you can see it almost looks black (car in bg is black)

Dark Olive metallic all day for me. Was hoping to have my incoming 992 GTS Targa in this colour but PTS wasn't an option unfortunately so went Aventurine.
I found many of the greens to be just 'too' green, whereas the Dark Olive looked near black until the light hit it when it just 'pops' as you say.

Viola a lovely PTS colour. They did a limited edition 993 C2S in this colour I think.
Vesuvius
Ah thanks knew it was similar. Sweet looking 993 those were. Malachite Green with a Cognac interior. Looks stunning in real life.
Olivgrün looks hot on a GT3 too

You're welcome!
I think this colour is quite subtle and definitely more interesting than the usual black! What about interior? I find it so disappointing that the majority of Porsches seem to still just be ordered in black or white exterior with black interior (judged from 2nd hand market). Feels like a supercar, looks like a taxi
Maybe people hedging their bets on resale value with lowest common denominator combination...
