Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

My front bumper cover has 4 ugly holes from a previous plate bracket. I have also managed to scrape up the front lip just as it curves under, as well as the underside. The scrape is not noticeable unless you bend down and give it a look see. It is scraped across most of the front from one side to the other. Between the holes and the scrape I have become a bit bothered by it. Is it best and more cost effective to have it fixed up and painted or get a new cover and have that painted?

POST 2Original post

The cost of repairing the existing bumper is likely considerably less than the $1000 or so for a new OEM bumper.

POST 3Original post

It should only cost a few hundred to re shoot that.. you could get most of it ready.. pull it off, sand it flat, fill the holes with filler etc. 300g to start should get it nice and flat.. it all depends on the chip boogers.. maybe fab a proper place for a front bracket?

POST 4Original post

I need to do this with mine, as well. Some prior owner smacked and deformed it on something, placing a peeling 2" paint split on the tip. Then, somehow, I misjudged a parking block and cracked the left front air dam area. Add 14 years of rock chips and it's not terribly attractive at the moment.

POST 5Original post

I bought a Joe Toth front splitter, good lord it’s low and to boot makes the front end that much longer…
