I have an AVIC with a reversing camera which was already fitted when I bought my cab so cannot help with the wiring, but just to let you know that the camera is not really worth the bother.

Nice idea but doesn't work very well in practice - gives a distorted view, is set too low, tends mist up when the car is started from cold, not easy to judge distance etc etc.

After much searching, I still can't find a reverse input wire for my Pioneer Avic sat. nav. My car is a 2000 model, so doesn't have this input wire to the existing radio and neither does it have a black/blue wire under the seat, as other people have instructed. I really don't want to have to run another wire all the way from the tail light if I can help it. Does anyone know of anywhere else I can find a reverse signal wire?

It is in a bunch of wires by the alarm control unit under the passenger seat, but unless you are fitting a reversing camera it is hardly worth bothering about. Even if you are, you could run a feed from the reversing lights themselves. I didn't wire it up on mine, as it would make an insignificant difference when navigating, as it still has the GPS signal. Unless you do a lot of reversing in tunnels, of course!

Thanks for your reply. I've had a look where you said and I can find every other colour combination apart from black with a blue stripe. There's a blue with black stripe wire but I was told this isn't the one.

BK/BL is BlacK with a BLue stripe, and it should be there. You can always put a multimeter on the blue/black and see if it works when you engage reverse. Edit: Blue/Black is the switch for the front lid, so that isn't it. The Black/Blue ones are in a bundle, wrapped in fabric loom tape, so that might be why you can't see them.

I've looked a couple of times in this bundle and couldn't see the wire. I'll have another look, failing that I'll just forget about it. I don't do a lot of reversing in tunnels, so It's probably not worth the hassle! Thanks again for your help!
