Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First off let me start by say this forum is awesome and very informative. The people on here that contribute and advise are great. I have a 99 986, I started the work replacing the water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, idler pulleys and belt. I filled ther reservoir and went to to crank the motor to get the air bubbles out of the system. I got a not start, no crank. I have since installed a new starter, starter relay, and DME relay, still not cranking. I pulled the driver seat and saw some corrosion on the ground post for the anti-theft unit. I cleaned The ground stud and associated ring terminals. Any insight would be much appreciated.

I had a weak start/no start on mine and it turned out the battery was 10 years old even though it looked new. The ground strap can be a common issue if it gets corroded. I think there is one by the battery and also one on the engine. I know the immobilizer gives people fits too. Sounds like you gave that a look already though. these are the threads i saved on troubleshooting: https://986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/49850-intermittent-start-problem.html https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/81-ELEC-Battery/81-ELEC-Battery.htm
