I dont want to change the seat as I am more than happy with how comfortable the seat itself is!

Would there be any aftermarket seat mount that would be suitable to use with the original seat?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
I am new to the Porsche scene and have just brought my first porsche 911 996 C4S which I am more than happy with!
I have only come across one problem Being 6' 2" there isn't a great amount of leg room and was wondering if anyone knew if there was anything avaliable on the market to increase the travel of the front seats? I dont want to change the seat as I am more than happy with how comfortable the seat itself is!
Cheers
Hi William and welcome!
Here is an excellent thread from Stuttgartmetal detailing how to move the 993 seat runners to give a couple of inches more leg room. It might be worth investigating if the 996 seats can be moved back in a similar way.

I have taken the seat out today and the lay out is not the same as the 993!! There is 2 holes in each corner 1 locating hole and one threaded hole so no room for adjustment there!
Any more ideas? :?
If you still have the seat out just check the inside the holes you should be able to move the threaded block backwards in all 4 corners
I hope this makes sense
Hi
The actual threaded part is not a block as such its more like a channel shape which is welded to the chassic so there is no real way of getting adjustment that I can see! :dont know:
Any more ideas?
Interesting; I'm 6'2" and I don't have a problem - I don't even have the drivers seat all the way back (it's a few 'notches' forward from the furthest back position). I will admit it took me a while to find a comfortable driving position but I didn't ever think I needed more travel in the seats.
Is the problem that your knees are knocking on the wheel? Or do you feel too close to the wheel? Sorry, can't help with a solution though... :dont know:

Keeping with the same theme - I'm 6'3", and don't have any problems. However, I did make sure I got the 3 spoke steering wheel, as it's about 1.5" smaller than the 4 spoke.
I have the seat as low as possible, a couple of notches off right back, and the steering wheel extended as far out as possible. How far you recline will also make a difference - but each to their own....
I have come up with a bit of a better seating position now as a couple of people have pointed out if you have the steering wheel in its fully extended position it does clear my knees better now!!!!
Thanks for the advise all!
