Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

The dealer product orientation guide was interesting reading. Thanks to who ever supplied it. I have two issues, though: 1) Do you agree with which cars Porsche identified as competitors to the Cayman? I never considered even looking at an MB SLK, a Chrysler Crossfire, or the Mazda. I had 100,000 great miles on my Vette, and although quite a different car, I guess it is competition. I also have over 100,000 miles on my M3, and I love it, and considered a new one, but decided I couldn't part with the old one, so the Cayman would make a nice addition to it. I guess it is also competition. The TT might be the closest competitor, except for performance, although the new TT is improved. 2) The guide suggests that salespeople push the sound of the engine as a selling point. It notes that it results in a subjective feeling of more speed. My salesman was very knowledgable and professional, but he mentioned the sound of the engine lots of times during my test ride. I appeciate the sound of a great engine - I love starting my Ducati before my helmet goes on. But I feel like a woman at a bar with some guy telling her anything she wants to hear just so he can have a successful night. I feel kinda used - or maybe just naive. Any thoughts?

POST 2Original post

The competitors were discussed a long time ago when that was first posted, probably could dig up a few old threads, there were different reasonings behind each car, don't recall what though...

POST 3Original post

Thanks. I tried doing a search, but nothing came up.

POST 4Original post

search for some of the car names like SLK or 350Z and they should come up... or others may join in and re-open the discussion.
