Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I got home I checked the fuses ect but everything was ok, in the end it started working again (this was just after I opened and shut the engin cover) and has been ok all day.
Leading evidence: 'Check fuses ect' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuses ect' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys, This is my first post after taking delivery of my 2000 plate C4 Cab on friday. So far it has lived up to all of my dreams and expectations. But this moring I thought I would take the roof off for a quick drive home the senic route, the roof retracted properly but the roof compartment cover stopped abour 6" from its home posititon, so I tried to close the roof, the cover retracted back but the roof would not lift. After much playing the best I could do was drive with the cover 6" from its home position. When I got home I checked the fuses ect but everything was ok, in the end it started working again (this was just after I opened and shut the engin cover) and has been ok all day.
Has any one else ever come across this as I am worried I may happen again or I tuck it away for the winter to find it is broken in the summer.
Thanks, Adam
Only going from your description, perhaps the engine lid microswitch (in the engine lid latch) was triggered and that activated the safety interlock on the cab roof.
+1 for GT4 explanation. My hood occasionally doesnt work and its always because the engine compartment lid is not totally closed (even though it looks as though it is). But in my case the engine compartment open warning light is on when this happens. But maybe an intermittently faulty micro swithch could explain it.
The only time I had this happen was after jet-washing the car.
It cleared itself after a few miles so I put it down to some water drops somewhere in the electrical system.
Had you recently washed the car ?
PP, it would have been when the water was directed at the latch.
When my microswitch played up (road debris can enter too), I washed the latch microswitch in IPC then WD-40'd the mechanism to remove any debris and waterproof the latch for a while.
Similar thing happened to mine - in the end it was a plastic flap on the side of the roof lid that had broken and got jammed in the mechanism, Removed it and still need to replace it - nothing major by the looks of it...
