Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Litronics when first turned on will do a self-test dipping down then back up.
Leading evidence: 'Test dipping down' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test dipping down' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
Can anyone help, Im trying to find which option code refers to the lights and whether I have Bi-Xenon units or not. Any help would be appreciated
M :worship:
m601 is for litronic's
if you want to pm your chassis number i can enter it into porsche parts catalogue and tell you which lights you should have
generally headlight washers or not is the answer if you have headlight washers then you have xenons
Headlamp washers must accompany OEM Litronics (option M601).
However, M288 allows you to spec washers on a halogen (non-Litronic).
If you have a pre-facelift the Litronics have a projector lens.
Post-facelift have a projector lens whether they are Litronic or not.
Litronics when first turned on will do a self-test dipping down then back up. They also get brighter over the first few seconds (they start off quite blue then get whiter).
Fried Egg - 3.4 : 996.1
HALOGEN (note: later 996.1 lost the lower amber reflector for clear/smoke)
XENON (LITRONIC)
Crying Eyes - 3.6 : 996.2
Some vehicles have retrofit Litronics, but no levellers or washer.
Thanks guys,
Have washers, def blueish on start up and get brighter after a while will send over the magic number.
Thanks again, the forum really is fantastic!
