Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

For those who have already taken delivery, who wants to author an article on removing the engine cover lid? All that is needed are step by step photographs along with a brief written description of how to do the process. A number of people here are still wondering so I thought this would be a good do-it-yourself article ala Russ's clear sidemarker install. I'd write it myself but I'd like to see some other authors and I don't have my car yet and don't want to bug the dealer to do it on one of their cars. Anyone interested? If you take the photos and write the description I'll help you get it posted here as an article. Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

Wow! 85 people have read this thread thus far and no one wants to take their engine cover off and photograph it???

POST 3Original post

O.K. why would we want to take the cover off (if my Cayman was here I might be curious I admit)? Did you have further modifications in mind?

POST 4Original post

Just to see the engine, or maybe for replacing it for a see-thru engine cover? That'll look sick!

POST 5Original post

2 fold One, to see the engine and document the procedure. If you want to change an air filter you are going to need to know how to take this off. Secondly, yes for the clear engine cover install. So does someone who has a car want to photograph this and write it up???
