Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there and good day!! I need advice on removal of the shift boot/**** from my '99 996 and to replace with the Porsche carbon fiber. I have no problem declipping the boot portion but how do you remove the ****. Do you pry it out or there's something I don't see becuase looking underneath the boot don't see any screws? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike

POST 2Original post

It does pull straight off. Sit in seat, put both hands around the **** and pull straight up (watch out you don't hit the roof. It does come off. <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" />

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Don. It worked as you stated with just a little elbow grease and the sunroof open(joking). What confused me was the carbon shifter had a tightening screw which I assumed the original shift boot/**** had to which threw me off. Now with the new carbon shifter/**** with aluminum horseshoe looks less barren : ). Regards. Mike
