i would still pull over next time it happens just to check the heat from the wheels and to rule them out , then your possibly looking for two problems the maf as said could be the power holding back but the steering is unlikely to be linked to the engine unless its a power steering pump issue

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I just went out for a spirited drive and the car (911 Turbo) felt really held back. Its never done this before. I gave it the usual 5-7mins light driving and then slowly increase the revs as i continue the journey. The brake pedal felt really soft and the steering felt loose and there was no powr till 5Krpm. Then after about 20 or so mins she came to life and her usual self, still pedal, nice weighted steering, responsive throttle and power from 2Krpm all the way thru. Can anyone explain why this was? And they after some spirited driving it started feeling a little held back again not as bad as when i initially drove it but just a little less perky.

I'm no expert... but I'll throw the MAF out there as a possibility? Others however I'm sure would be able to provide more expertise...

POST 3Original post

sound silly but ? brakes sticking a little, soft brake due to over heat , freed up after a while , when did you drive it last ? were the brakes wet last time you put it away or is it kept outside , 20 mins does seem a long time to suffer with the symptoms you have but i've had the same for a couple of miles after my car was left standing for a while rear brakes sticking can hold back power and make the front end feel vague Rob
