Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm considering changing the clutch on my 996 C4S as it's getting heavier than I remember from a year ago (probably some life left in it though, it's not slipping or anything).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I'm considering changing the clutch on my 996 C4S as it's getting heavier than I remember from a year ago (probably some life left in it though, it's not slipping or anything). Given it's 50/50 the flywheel might have to be changed as well, has anyone had any experience of moving to a lightweight flywheel in a 996?

POST 2Original post

Unless you plan on tracking it alot I'd stick with stock. I went through the same dilemma. For normal town driving the LWFW can take alot of getting used to. I also considered upgrading the clutch to the Sachs performance range but decided against that also. Unless you're going to seriously alter the BHP and/or are going to need that rapid movement in revs then I'd stick with stock... :thumb:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - that's been the advice from various places I've rung around too. Will stick with standard if it needs changing.
