Ive been trying to set up my garage door opener but like so many I've read about I'm having trouble at first i couldn't get the switch to light up at all so i pulled the switch and found all the wired were cut so i spliced them back together with acft wire splices since i am an aircraft mechanic and had some so now the light on switches are working but i cant get the fog lights to flash no matter what i do since the wires were cut at the switch i want to check the transmitter wiring but cant find the transmitter does anyone know where it would be located car is a 2007 cayman base model and was a launch vehicle
Depending on the year of your car and the year of your garage opener, you may not be able to get it to work without adding an additional signal converter in your garage. I recently replaced my garage opener and the newer models use a different signal protocol. My 2008 can no longer can be programmed to open the doors. An additional unit must be purchased to modify the signal in order to program the cars opener buttons. They are not particularly expensive but I passed and just use the remote that came with the new garage opener.
As Budman said, you probably need the Homelink Bridge. Another option is to replace the transmitter module behind the front bumper with a newer module which aren’t too expensive on ebay. See this thread for more info.

Thanks i still wanna find the transmitter and maybe replace it because the wires for the switch were cut wanna make sure the transmitter wires r still there just wasnt sure where it was ill pop the bumper off and see what i find
IIRC, it is located behind the front bumper cover on the passenger side...
Strange that the wires were cut, seems like a 'modder' was in there a messed things up a bit?
Yea i got it from a small mom and pop dealership and they had a new headliner installed thinking they cut them then but wanna make sure someone didnt cut the ones to the box too. I just replaced the AOS and the air filter which was dated 2010 and disintegrating and put a 4” crank pulley on it other than that im gonna leave it stock it was a dealership launch code vehicle it came with the 18” wheels and the Brembo brakes already on it
