Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There is a long strip to attach it to the windshield (I used a bungee cord to help).
Leading evidence: 'Use bungee cord' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect two tension rope the ball–pivots located' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

yeah, yeah....look in articles but the only info there is for a
Cayman
. How do you remove the engine cover in a
Boxster
(in this case a 2007 "S")? THANKS!!!
I was planning on putting together an article on this
next
week.
I'm guessing you want the upper cover.
In a nutshell (this is from memory--pics are on another computer):
Open your top about 10 inches. Remove keys from ignition (just in case)
Disconnect the ball pivots and the long cover inside the back of the top.
This will allow you to raise the back part of the top. There is a long strip to attach it to the windshield (I used a bungee cord to help).
Now you have access to the top of the
bose
. There are four pieces to turn to remove the
bose
. You'll have to unplug the
bose
speaker on the passenger side.
I believe there is a carpet cover to remove.
You should see about 6 bolts to remove. Remove them, and you're in.
For the forward cover, its pretty much the same as the
cayman
(but I haven't done it -- yet).
Hopefully, this helps.
This might help... I understand its from the '05 manual. I got it from here btw, but I dont remember the link, so I uploaded it again!

I think it still awaits moderator approval, so be patient
As I said in my previous post. The file is still waiting for moderation.
Since you seem to be in a hurry, here's another link on mediafire:

The goal of this article is to show the step by step process to put a 987
Boxster
into “maintenance mode”. You’ll need to access the engine compartment to change the air filter, or install a custom intake etc.
This is only a guide, an I take no responsibility for errors, or problems with your car.
Step one: Park the car on a flat surface, leave the car in gear, and set the parking brake.
Step two: Open the convertible top approximately 24 inches; just enough to raise the rear cover to its highest point. Now remove the key from the ignition, to prevent accidental operation of the top.
Step three: Disconnect two tension rope the ball–pivots located on either side of the convertible top. Just pry gently, and they should pop right off. You may need to remove the convertible top hinge covers (if not now then later to access the
Bose
speaker
plug
).
Step four: Release the cloth cover. Gently pull straight down on the plastic cover, preferably right at the clip holders (there are two) one is shown below. By the way, that’s a “mid” strut bar.
Step five: Lift the top up and grab the attached strap to secure the back of the top. I used a bungee cord to help. You just want to secure the back of the top so it’s out of the way.
This is the access you’ll have after removing the speaker and carpet cover.
Step six. Remove the Bose speaker by rotating the four black twist – locks. They secure the Bose speaker. Then you can rotate it to get better access to the plug connection.
With the Bose speaker removed, the carpet cover should come right off.
Now you have access to the bolts. There are 5 all around the engine cover.
Remove these and voila, access to your engine!
Please let me know if there are any other questions.
Folks, in the future if you are waiting on a file to be approved please let myself or one of the moderators know so we can take care of it. I took care of this one. I am probably going to move that article to the proper
Boxster
section in the ARTICLES section.
Nice write-up. The bungee cord is not needed if you hook the strap over the prong at the front corner of the top on driver's side. I'm referring to the prong that goes into the small receptacle at the corner of the windshield header when the top is closed. One more tip, on newer models, the
Bose
connection is hidden behind a little door in same position as pic above. Push down on plastic latch and flip up the door to access the connector.
