Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello My 2001 base boxster 5 Spd. has an engine vibration around 3000 rpm. This is felt mostly during deceleration. I have replaced the front engine mount and both transmission mounts. Clutch was replaced at 133Km, flywheel was not replaced. Car is at 160Km now. All tires are new and perfectly balanced. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

POST 2Original post

It's not a bug, it's a feature! Generally speaking, "they all do that". Some have reported that playing with the muffler mounting has made a difference. My 03 has been doing it since I bought it 17 years/165k miles ago, and I've long ago stopped noticing. FWIW

POST 3Original post

Mine does the same and i have 240km on the clock. I like it as it feels more rough. I would say - dont bother

POST 4Original post

You could obtain a Durametric and read the cam deviations. That may provide some insight.

POST 5Original post

The vibration on my 2001 base model stopped after I completed this project: https://986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/28694-ims-replacement-jager-saga-2.html Most likely the dual mass flywheel.
