Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause
Interestingly, the Exige is probably the only car that I would consider to be a serious alternative.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A quick question for all you lucky Cayman GT4 owners - how far in advance did you place your orders/LOIs/deposits?
I'm just curious to see if anyone late to the game managed to secure a car.....
Yes, because a friend of mine placed a deposit after the GT4 was officially anounced and got one in the 'second batch'.
On the other hand, i probably submitted my LOI a good year before that, and put my deposit down a couple of months later on and didn't get one. Go figure.
Was that the day it was launched? So no LOI etc?
Also, were any of you brand new to the OPC with no prior purchases etc?
I'm interested to see if I could have possibly got one had I tried.........
Well I pursued all OPC's and eventually put a deposit down in October on a "promise" of next in line. I got my order confirmed in November with a June build/delivery.
No previous association with the dealership I've bought from.

No LOI, reading Pistonheads over tea and saw the release pics. Ordered following day at 0830 as soon as sales dept opened, paid £5k deposit over phone. No Porsche history prior to this car but had been there before and looked at a Cayman.
Then proceeded to buy the wife some flowers, spa weekend away and advise I had ordered a new car (I was looking for an F430 at time but she thought I was just looking, had never even mentioned the Porsche).
Mine being collected 1st March, was delayed as I opted for PTS otherwise would have come in Nov.
December 2014 - LOI in..
February 2015 - Deposit Paid
October 2015 - Offered a Jan build (turned it down as no LWB \ CS at time)
* Twitched a lot ***
January 2016 - Confirmed April Build.
... it's been a journey.
Cheers - sounds like I may have had the chance of one then, had I done what you did. Interesting to know.
I don't think I could practically live with one given the roads around where I live, and the speed bumps. Hopefully my forthcoming CGTS will give me 90%+ of what the GT4 has instead....
Submitted a LOI well before announcement, first one at the dealership. Was called on a Monday morning after announcement and left a voicemail asking for a deposit (was in work) called back in the afternoon and was told they already had too many deposits down so I had no chance. Have owned 4 Porsche's, 3 from that dealership. Was devastated at the time, but over it now.... just about!

That sounds horrendous, well done to that man for not throwing a wobbler.

Rang up the day the day order books officially opened and paid deposit same day. Got the car 3 weeks ago
Hi. Does your forum name imply that you now own the former Max Bygraves registration MB 1? Interested, as I am also a Mark B, and like personalised registrations. If you own it I probably would say let me know if you ever want to sell, but I probably couldn't afford it!
LOI in back end of 2014
Deposit placed on launch day (half way up mountain in the Alps)
Car delivered in December
I have a good relationship with my local OPC but not to the extent that I would say it would have guaranteed me a car.
Deposit down in Feb 2015 without previous history at OPC. No word till this month but now getting a June build car.
I did pop in around July time for a chat but not sure what swung it.
LOI a few months prior to official launch. Deposit at launch (Feb 15). Initially advised 3rd in line but bumped to 4th which put me outside of the first batch of cars. Delayed further due to CS pack (probably seats). Car arrived at the dealers early January 16.

Nope! It's my initials but don't own a plate

I once saw it on a Rolls when it was known that Bygraves had it. Would be seriously expensive.
Got offered a February build in December 2015.
3rd car in a year from this dealer.
Carbon Buckets not available. due 2nd week in March gone for Carmine red.
OPC have had 7 GT4's in total.

opcorn:
Hearing rumours from OPCs Porsche and franchised that there may be a further batch of GT4 on the way in next 4 weeks. not clear on numbers as yet. but one has 4 deposits outstanding and thinks these will be filled.
I placed my order as a replacement for my CR before anybody knew that it would be called the GT4, and got a very early car.
Actually, I had heard the name GT4 voiced by an OPC employee at an Oulton Park track day, but had not dared to believe the it would happen ..
My OPC wouldn't accept a LOI for a GT4 at the time, it was unknown.
I adore mine .. and am hopeful that there may be another slice of production as a swan song for so may who have so far been disappointed.
My bag is track days. So buy a GT4 and come play ... those who want to buy and sell at a premium never seem to want to play
If we can re-build the 964RS play ethos we will all have fun
We will !

Totally agree Chris.
1500 miles now in less than 4 weeks so mines all good for Snetterton next month with Lotus guys ( nice bunch actually).
Front ARB needs small adjustment as there is definitely a hint of understeer ( although I'm no expert on these things).
Anyhow you're right, a GT4 as AP said is for having fun. I'd only sell mine if I had to and then replace it with a V6 exige for less cash. This year is gonna be about track days and trips .
Bought mine to use also.
As i did my 911 991 C4S and C63 507.
Dont know how these independent dealers are getting new cars.
But are they selling at 100k ???

Flippers taking them straight from opc to Indi that's how.
Heard a story of one guy driving his car 500yds from opc to meet indi waiting for him in a gt3 he was swapping for it .
It really is luck of the draw as to which opc you're dealing with. Some only sell to local people and others sell to whoever spends the most with them from all over the uk ( my dealer for example) and some just give cars to first come first served.
There are no rules, if you have a good relationship then great otherwise you need to work a bit harder to get a car.
Was it a white 991 by chance?

I was reading about the new Honda NSX thinking that it might be a tough lightweight --- but it's a mini 918 !
Just bought a humble MX5 1.5 which comes in at under a tonne and cheap ... you know what, it's loads of fun !!
