Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'bit of a cheeky post' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'bit of a cheeky post' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test of a c2' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

G'day,
this is probably a bit of a cheeky post but I am wondering if anyone with X-74 or KW V3 suspension would mind taking me for a short drive so I can get a feel for the suspension. I'm in Lincoln but prepared to go drive for a couple of hours to someone that wouldn't mind accommodating my request.
Cheers.
Standard - High ride height, too soft
M030 - Proper height and sports car stiffness. A great compromise of ride and handling. They should have delivered them all this way.
X74 - Very aggressive ride height (dropped to a GT3 height - a further 20mm). Be very careful driving around if you have the AeroKit (bumps and ramps will scrape if not driven with care). Suspension feels awesome and is super sharp (more lively than the other choices), but it is very stiff. Many may find it too harsh.
A German car magazine had a test of a C2 with standard suspension, M030 and X74 on the Hockenheim track and on a 36m (100ft) slalom course:
Hockenheim:
1:16.9 min standard
1:16.2 min M030
1:15.7 min X74
Speed Slalom:
123.0 km/h standard
126.1 km/h M030
127.2 km/h X74
Some quotes from the test on the X74:
Whilst that is fantastic news for the next track day, and no doubt the bragging rights down the pub, but I think it may be step to far for the disgrace that is pot-holed and speed-bumped UK road. Your chiropractor's view may differ.
When I bought my 996 C2, I planned to get the M030 suspension at some point. After owning it a few months, I find the standard suspension more than firm enough and think the M030 would get on my nerves.
I should add my last two cars were Elises, so I'm used to back-breaking suspension!
I think that ride quality is a pretty subjective issue based on an individuals intentions for the car and their preferences and tolerances. I have done some pretty extensive research on various forums in order to gauge the various pros and cons and narrow down my choices. I also have one car with race suspension, one car with stock suspension and one car with what I believe to be M030. Hence to get the best possible idea about what suits my preferences I figured it would be worth going for a ride in an X-74 fitted 996 and a KW-3 fitted 996. That will allow me to get first hand experience with all of the options and pick the one that suits best.
Cheers
I'm pretty sure the C4S gets the 10mm drop (M030, effectively) as standard but one of the usuals can confirm.
Interesting that the standard suspension results in a time only 0.7sec slower round a track than the M030 (that's less than 1% difference). I've always been of the impression that the standard set-up is ideal for the standard (C2, C4) cars and everyday use, but wouldn't be great on track, although I guess this proves me wrong?
FWIW I would say for a daily driver, standard is the one you'll want but for a weekend toy / track car you may as well get either the M030 or X74 because every drive is an event anyway so why not go all-out... :thumb:
