The electric window works fine using the button on the console but when you pull the exterior or interior handle to open the door the window doesn't drop slightly like it should to allow the door to open/close smoothly?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Annoying problem just developed on passenger side. The electric window works fine using the button on the console but when you pull the exterior or interior handle to open the door the window doesn't drop slightly like it should to allow the door to open/close smoothly? I keep catching the cab roof and worry I'll shatter (or more correctly the missus will!) the glass. I can hear some motorised noise going on within the door but the glass doesnt move. Any ideas? Something easy to fix? :?:

POST 2Original post

Mine did exactly the same. After searching the forums I replaced the door lock mechanism (which includes the microswitches which had failed) and all was then ok. Cost of the part was approx £75 ish from an OPC and took a couple of hours for me to fit. Hope that helps

POST 3Original post

As jb29768 says, it is most likely one of the (5) microswitches inside the door lock assembly. The switch which senses if the door is open or closed. Because this switch is (probably) stuck, it is telling the alarm system the door is closed - hence it wont let the window drop.

POST 4Original post

Had a similar problem with mine. Turned out to be a broken winder mechanism. Replaced the membrane at the same time as it was letting in water. TB

POST 5Original post

If you are hearing noises in the door, it sounds like it could be the mechanism. Have you tried resetting the limits?
