"We’ve changed away from the Pentosin line and now use Redline Synthetic P/S fluid because it is less aggressive to plastic and rubber and has higher viscosity at operating temperature and a higher boiling point.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Has anyone used the Red Line Sythetic Power Steering Fluid? Any experiences good, bad, or indiferent. Is it compatible with the system? Thanks in advance.

POST 3Original post

I've heard good things about it, never used it myself. I have used Red Line in the gearbox and differential in several cars and liked it.

POST 4Original post

I have it in mine. I went to remove the old fluid and found there was literally next to none in it. It was all the way to the bottom. So I used Redline to refill. from what I read, it has a higher temp range and better lubrication them most stock fluids. -D

POST 5Original post

LN Engineering apparently recommends it in their Inline Power Steering Cooler article ; here is what they said: "We’ve changed away from the Pentosin line and now use Redline Synthetic P/S fluid because it is less aggressive to plastic and rubber and has higher viscosity at operating temperature and a higher boiling point. It is also miscible with the residual amounts of Pentosin left in the system. "

POST 6Original post

That article is one of the reasons I am asking. The other is that I allready have it with a Ln power steering cooler kit I purcahsed from Diver Dog. I am going to have install soon.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
