Sorry to say it looks like Durametric pretty much has the only non dealer option available and at $125 for a dealer reset I'd be buying the Durametric.

The Enthusiast cable is licensed to only 3 different cars, so if you buy a used one, it will only work on 1 or 2 cars at the most if it has been used already.

Porsche wants to charge me $125 to reset the check airbag light which was only tripped because of a battery change. Unbelievable. I was must wondering as a backup plan, what is the cheapest way to get that durametric system? I don't see it being sold on ebay. Must be a small market. Thanks.

The software is free (download from website) - you have to pay for the cable which is enabled to use it. You're right, it is a relatively small market, and you probably won't see used cables showing up on ebay too often (though you might see one advertised here or on other Porsche websites on occasion). The Enthusiast cable is licensed to only 3 different cars, so if you buy a used one, it will only work on 1 or 2 cars at the most if it has been used already. The Professional cable has unlimited licenses, which is partly why it is so expensive to begin with.

Durametric makes it kind of difficult to share it's product and even sell it to someone else since the licensing is so tight. I have VAG COM($350) for VW/ Audi cars and I can use it on as many cars as I want as long as I use it with my PC. Sorry to say it looks like Durametric pretty much has the only non dealer option available and at $125 for a dealer reset I'd be buying the Durametric. My VAG COM has paid for itself several times over. We had up to 5 VW/ Audi cars at one time not to mention I have helped a few other folks out.
