Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

PM for a new suspension setup! great pricing for forum members

POST 23Original post

It will under steer on the track, no doubt. I can't imagine too many situations in street driving where it would happen. You would have to be doing something extreme for this to happen on dry pavement. The 996 C4S uses a viscous coupling AWD system. In almost all driving conditions, it's 95% rear and 5% front drive. This only changes if the rear wheels are slipping. The weight of the AWD system is the thing that tends to produce under steer. With the fat rear tires on the C4S and the weight distribution, it's harder to oversteer than a C2. You can do it, but it's not the same balance as the RWD cars.

Driving flat out through 90 degree corner second gear I find it understeers pretty heavily Enough to push into next lane over

POST 26Original post

ALWAYS offering discounted pricing on KW, PM for more info!

POST 27Original post

I can see how that would do it. I suppose it all depends on your point of view, but I would certainly call that extreme for street driving. How fast are you taking this 90-degree curve? 65mph or faster? I would ge arrested if I got caught by my local police driving like that. I can only do that kind of stuff on the track. Given that's the way you like to drive, I'd consider upgrading your suspension. Many people say it's the best bang for your buck with these cars. Coil overs are certainly one option, but you might also consider new springs, roll bars, sport shocks, etc.

POST 28Original post

Hey I have a quick question about the KW V3. I bought a 996TT with the V3 system installed. A few months later, one of the sway bar end links broke. The Porsche dealer I took it to says that KW has changed their set up for the V3, so the current end links offered will not fit. They claimed my only options would be to have something custom made or order a whole new front suspension. Do you know if this is accurate? I've tried calling KW, but they weren't able to provide much help. Thanks!

POST 29Original post

Never experienced understeer even under hard driving. I would suggest coilovers and change out sway bars.
