This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Why is this- I read somewhere: I'm not in the know - why are the MY99 '98 build 996's so desirable vs. a later build MY99 996? Someone on another board said these were highly sought after. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I think they were being sarcastic, but I could be wrong.

POST 3Original post

Fairly certain Mike was joking. (he has a 98 build MY99 BTW).

POST 4Original post

Only way I can see a MY99 more desirable is that it is the only year available with Locking Differential and Traction Control which can be turned off completely. In fact, I have one for sale if any one is interested. (Seriously.) ;-)

POST 5Original post

I wish my 2/98 build 996 was a collectable. It is even in Ocean Blue!

POST 6Original post

I had a MY'99 C2 cab built in Sept. '98 and it was definitely NOT a collectible when I went to trade it in for an '02 cab this past Oct. I took a big hit on resale and many of the wholesalers did not even want to make an offer on the car or made only a ridiculously low one.

POST 7Original post

Thank god I dont speculate on collectibility of cars especially with one thats only 3 years old. I imagine maybe but its a reach its the first ever model for the 996. Seems majority of people collect firsts of everything. Be nice to collect all 911's thru the years it has changed(not the specialty ones but the mainstream ones)but darn no money : (. Regards. Mike
