I ran both of these cars, back to back before I left with my new one two weeks ago.

My advice would be to do the final tightening when the tips are warm, wear gloves.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know circuit werks doesnt have the best reputation among some users here, but an
exhaust
tip X formed must be good either way?
The price is also OK on this one.. Its half price of the dream2
exhaust
tip..Does anybody have it?

I don't have this, but I have tried Circuit Werks before (catback
exhaust
)... if their fit, finish and quality of materials are still the same, then you'll be regretting this purchase. ALL these Circuit Werks products are generic and mass-produced in China. But to be fair, that was a year ago, and quality could have improved. You'll have to gamble to find out.
Hey Everyone!
For those looking for an
Exhaust
Tip X-Pipe we offer them here at
Fabspeed
as well! They are made of the finest T304L Stainless Steel, then TIG welded and polished to perfection. They come in Polished Chrome, Carbon Fiber, or Black Chrome finish as well!
On a side note...I have NO idea why
Porsche
designed an
exhaust
where it has gases running directly into each other in the first place. There should always have been an X and/or 90 degree design. I had another
exhaust
installed on Friday that is less restrictive and has a 90 degree outlet. There is no doubt my car is making more power as a result. I am not an engineer but the factory design T exit is garbage.

this was my reason i went for
BCVelocity - to remove this stupid T-pipe.
no mistakably car feels better.
at 1-2 gears at Sport mode it became too aggressive for city traffic. so quite often i turn off the PSE.
Yup, I'm sure the actual engineers at Porsche just sketched out the "garbage" exhaust on a napkin during a lunch break.
I don't suppose you've done flow testing or have before/after dyno tests you can post. Sorry, but baseless, subjective gut feels really don't cut it.

Dan, IMO the argument "all
Porsche
engineers' design is the best" is also doesn't cut.
we all know too many examples of either poor design or bad execution.
when it looks like a duck, goes like a duck, sound like a duck - it's a a duck :hilarious:
I suspect this is a case of where finance over-rode engineering and that the "T" design was determined to be "good enough" and at a better price point than an "X" design which while perhaps technically superior from a pure performance standpoint was also going to add more to the cost of the car and thus "T" was ruled good enough. So in essence it wasn't a
Porsche
engineer sketching out garbage on a napkin but rather someone from finance telling the engineer that finance wasn't buying lunch today and that engineering needed to bring its own napkins from now on. :hilarious:
Croc999 your logical is unique, undeniable, and making me bust a gut over here! haha
For those of you curious about the

products, take a look at our video on the 991

Product line overview. It gives a pretty good idea of how everything works.
The bean-counting explanation is probably true, but I would also say the T pipe is basically another tool for baffling sound...I had that chastity belt off my first 987 in a month to swap for an NHP Y pipe, before eventually going to a full
exhaust
.
Installing the circuit werks x pipe made my car drone for some reason? The cars has FVD
exhaust
, and it drones abit with the OEM T tip aswell, but not nearly as much!
Bought and installed this x pipe with the 'burnt blue' tips off eBay. Was $250. First things first, sanded and polished off the blue crap. Fitted it to my AWE in place of an OEM dual outlet S pipe ( still T style):
A lot lighter
Bigger Outlet
Adjustable
LESS Drone, more rasp
Similiar to NHP pipe I had on another car
only downside is no clamps included
thumbs up from me
First of all - congrats!
Don't take this the wrong way, but are you happy with that tip alignment? I only ask because I know I wouldn't want it to look like that, and I have the exact same x-pipe/tips. Looks like this:
Just if anyone wonders about the quality of the product: I've had it for almost a full season now and it is just as good as any "brand" name. Think about it guys: it's a very short and simple piece of pipe with some tips. As with all adjustable tips you have to be really thorough with the alignment if you want it completely straight and "square" - I had to spend some time getting it just right with my fabspeed race exhaust as well. My advice would be to do the final tightening when the tips are warm, wear gloves. There is a sound improvement, probably from the exhaust gasses not colliding as much, but the most important part is the look which is way nicer than OEM.
That looks really sweet and I had one made from a good
Exhaust
shop in stockholm a few weeks ago in polished stainless and it really does make a little difference in sound and after installing the whole
exhaust
system with better cats and the new system which was built on site for my car everything seem much better both in power and overall feel
stock exhausts are not doing these awesome cars any favors IMHO of course.
it looks like this type of separate pipes should be better than X pipe.
But
Fabspeed
abandoned this design and switched to X.
Both
Fabspeed
and BC Velocity say that they saw no benefit in separate pipes
A tighter bend means more restriction but is the difference between a tighter bend or an X cross path worth .0005 HP or .0007? Hard to tell!
if someone is setting up a lab experiment please let us know!

Honestly, I am not sure whether it does or does not....my speculation to go along with the speculation of others in the thread. It does seem like that it does not take much in the change in the
exhaust
of these cars to produce marked sound differences. Mixing the
exhaust
from both banks of the engine before exiting potentially does impact
exhaust
sound. I know that going from the Oval tip in my
2014 Cayman
2.7L to the OEM twin tip in my
2016 Cayman
2.7L made a difference (loudness and rasp). I ran both of these cars, back to back before I left with my new one two weeks ago. My wife, my SA, and I all commented on the noticable difference. In this case, I like the change. And, yes, my 2016 was warmed up and the difference was not due to extra loudness they have at initial startup.
I bought these pipes first, but i wasnt satisfied with the finish and all the adjustments, never made it straight, they also droned like a crazy fan on a bryan adams concert, so i went for the OEM RS60 tips, very satisfied!
I Agree! Definitely $199 well spent. I had the x pipe with polished tips installed and I love the look of the dual tips and the more raspy/throaty exhaust note. It also sounds a little lower pitched than stock as well. Below is a link to a video I posted on You Tube of before/after the install with a cold start and then a warm start with revs. This is on a 2007 Cayman 2.7 which also has Magnaflow Headers/CATs installed as well.
