This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys....uploaded a short (30 second) vid clip of my intense Boxster whine. Take a listen - suggestions on what it is are very welcome. https://youtu.be/x4tYQ9afEdE Occurs at idle and low speeds, louder when you give it some gas. Goes away at higher rpms and gone completely at higher speeds. Thoughts? Thanks guys!

POST 2Original post

Buy a better camera. Sound quality is really bad. It's a 2011 car with PDK, right? Seems to be very loud even at low revs, is it? Can you locate where the noise is coming from? Did you let the engine run without wedge-ribbed belt. Was the noise also there? Regards, Markus

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ended up being a near empty power steering system. Added some in and presto, noise gone. Have never noticed anything leaking, but maybe a small seep is happening. Going to have to investigate a bit more, but at least we fixed the immediate need. And hey, that was the first time I saw the engine on my 987!
