So, as a lot of you already know, I am not a wizz with the spanners (although I once successfully dismantled and reassembled a Honda VFR 800 engine to clean the parr valves with just a Hayes manual and a m8 from Scotland at the end of the phone when needed - but that's another story)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, as a lot of you already know, I am not a wizz with the spanners (although I once successfully dismantled and reassembled a Honda VFR 800 engine to clean the parr valves with just a Hayes manual and a m8 from Scotland at the end of the phone when needed - but that's another story) Just wanted to ask if anyone know of any videos on YouTube (or elsewhere) that show how to: - change the high level/3rd brake light - change the memory seat switch on the side of the drivers seat Already go a vid and Leon's superb thread to swap out the broken 4-stalk indicator unit I bought off eBay for the brand new unit I've just bought; just want to get the two jobs, above done before Dinslaken - if there's a vid on the subject then it will be easier than guessing. Any help and advise very much appreciated :thumb: Osh

POST 3Original post

I'm assuming he means the one on the spoiler :dont know: .

POST 4Original post

Have you checked the 996 workshop manual in 996 FAQ? It should show you how the bits go together/come apart.

POST 5Original post

I thought he meant the clam shell one as most don't know the spolier one exists.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Alex its the high level, 3rd brake light in the center of the car just above the spoiler.... Osh

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been a member for years and years and didn't even know that existed.... Note to self: Pay Attention Man! c: Osh

POST 8Original post

Funnily enough neither did I til the other day! The problem is that it is not a sticky and gets lost in the other posts in FAQ

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

WOW! What a resource - supposed to be working right now and just sat here at my laptop leafing through all the workshop stuff. Superb! Osh

POST 10Original post

Power beyond our wildest dreams. Engine rebuild you say? Pah, a weekends work... :mechanic:

POST 11Original post

Just hit print (at work) and stick in a binder. Will make you really popular with colleagues.

POST 12Original post

Print it off? Where's the fun in that? Its much better trying to look at the pdf on an iPhone balanced on the jack...

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

PMSL! Thats my norm.... Osh

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So thats the high level/3rd brake light in play. Can't find anything about swapping out the switch for the drivers seat; the ideal would be a vid if anyone knows of such a think existing...?? :dont know: Osh

POST 15Original post

Demort's your man, particularly for electrics... hopefully he'll tune in later. From looking at this pic of the back of the switch, it looks like two screws hold the panel on, gently pry it out, then undo the power connector. There are two clips at the top.
