Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

BTW I talked to them yesterday and they hope to have the final hoses and product this Friday and start filling orders
Leading evidence: 'Fill orders' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill orders' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Also one of the stock runs is exactly the same as the stock run on the other sheet.

Anyone else notice the modified Cayman run on this dyno is exactly the same as on the other Dyno?

RSS has all of them in their shop and is sending me the first one for testing shortly, none are for sale until RSS releases them, but I'm assuming performance products will take orders.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know that IPD was working on an intake plenum for the
Cayman
and I just received the new Performance Products catalog (Automotion) which has a performance Plenum listed for the
Cayman
. I sthis the same plenum, or di dsomebody beat IPD to the market?
Power Intake Plenum
It is the same plenum, but the Performance Products catalog is wrong in that they don't have them yet, they've jumped the gun. RSS has all of them in their shop and is sending me the first one for testing shortly, none are for sale until RSS releases them, but I'm assuming performance products will take orders.
There were a couple of IPD prototypes that went out without the final hoses but IPD and RSS are waiting on the final hoses to start shipping final product. I talked to RSS last Thurs or Friday and the new hoses hadn't come in yet.
dittos for the plenum at Stuttgart Performance in Costa Mesa, CA (it's the one from IPD) - they are waiting for the hose...as of last tuesday when i was there getting my car a nice new see-through brassiere.
BTW I talked to them yesterday and they hope to have the final hoses and product this Friday and start filling orders
next
week as well as send me one for testing.
I find it hard to believe such a part could make such power gains. If it was this simple to make more power, why isn't the engine designed this way from the start? intakes, headers, exhausts all have their drawbacks (sound, service, emissions, etc) so its understandable why they would give a power gain compared to OEM.
I haven't test the part yet, but I believe the assumption is that their part is more like a Y instead of a T and made of aluminum instead of plastic and that those things combined provide a performance increase. I think their argument would be that
Porsche
made the intake runners cheaply as a plastic T to save production costs and that if you look at say the X51 3.8L engine it has a nice curving aluminum intake runner system. Again, I can't speak for gains yet, I haven't tested one, but I believe those are the assumptions that the only reason
Porsche
didn't do it from the start was cost/simplicity.
From what I have seen of the X51 kit the intake manifold/plenum is a big change and so I would not be at all surprised if this could help matters quite a lot.
Shall we all place bets as to the performance improvement.
Heres mine...
Stock: 8HP
Ken's car: 4HP
Sort of close to measurement error. Hoping for more but not likely. Place ya bets.
2006 Cs
This image was posted on another forum. Notice this isn't the elusive 2005 CaymanS. This shows 3 stock runs with one plenum run. Decent sampling of different temperatures and humidity. They show 22 hp, I'll place my guess at 15. That would mean 5 on Ken's car.
Anyone else notice the modified Cayman run on this dyno is exactly the same as on the other Dyno? Also one of the stock runs is exactly the same as the stock run on the other sheet. Not saying it means anything just a notice.
The reality is I really hope this is something that works as described on a stock CS, as this is something I would buy...price point is decent, I can install it myself and I don't have screw around with my ECU.
Hmmmmm....... Anyone else find it interesting that all stock pulls cut off at about 7,200 RPM, but the pull with the plenum somehow pushes out to about 7,300....? Who knew an aluminum y pipe could extend the rev limiter. Cool....
