Suggestion

Spraying more fuel reduces intake temperatures and I think if you use more aggressive timing you should be able to burn it to make more power.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

The local Porsche dealer in Dubai is claiming that a chip from cartonic ( Porsche Tuning by Cartronic Motorsport ) will give a 25hp increase without any other modifications! Now I'm not totally convinced and have asked them to proove it. The cost for the tuning is 2000dollars... I guess if you're spending 2000 bucks, you'd want to see 25hp at least... Does anyone else know anything about cartronic's chip? Cheers, Zuksh

POST 2Original post

They told me the same thing! They don't have a dyno here, but I think the audi service center does. Do let me know what you find out please.

POST 3Original post

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. I would get an iron-clad money back guarantee if the chip (why would they use a chip anyway? it should be programming not a chip) that if you don't get 25hp (which you absolutely won't) that you get your money back, of course proven on an independent dyno. BTW, I have some Cayman decals I will be selling that are "guaranteed" to give you at least 10 extra HP! Why? Because I said so! Now pay me $1000!

POST 4Original post

Yes. I know that it's likely to provide an opportunity to prove true the old adage "A fool and his money are soon parted." Sounds overpriced and unproven. Can they can show you valid before and after dyno plots, hook you up with other users who can tell you about reliability, etc., etc.?

POST 5Original post

Yikes, 25 sound reeeeaaaaaalllllly optimistic. Maybe they meant 2.5?

POST 6Original post

With all the burned out cat problems we've seen, I am wary of chips which often spray more fuel, which may be igniting in the cats and causing the problems over time. Spraying more fuel reduces intake temperatures and I think if you use more aggressive timing you should be able to burn it to make more power. But yeah, leftover fuel going into the exhaust is not cool.

POST 7Original post

I can attest to the efficacy of Ken's decals - I have two and there is a DEFINITE difference. Mostly midrange but some additional peak power!

POST 8Original post

They could be speaking of miniature horses, when making reference to horsepower. Or perhaps a horse of a different color.

POST 9Original post

I want to put two decals on the front so I have some reverse thrust for braking.' P.S. should the title be "Porsche Tuner claims . . " rather than "Porsche claims"?

POST 10Original post

Yeh, but flames out of the rear exhaust outlets do look really cool!!

POST 11Original post

uneducated dealer.. They offered me the same thing and after research at this website found out it is complete bulls**t.. I wanted to see any facts that support that but they had none.. The dealer in Dubai sells the most Porsches in the world.. It is rated as the highest single dealer seller of Porsche.. Not surprising when you consider the amount of money over here..
