Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check pictures - goes here in the middle - right' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check pictures - goes here in the middle - right' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The Plenums aren't ready yet there was a flaw in the first casting they are getting a new set made not sure how long it will be exactly but nothing to test yet, nothing to buy yet.

Obviously dynos are different and the only way to know is an independent test on another dyno, thus I am waiting to hear back.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

They were kind enough to do 3 stock pulls... would like to see 3 plenum pulls as well. Those are strong gains across the board, if they are valid. Might finally get the engine output up above 350 crank HP... with just bolt-ons. Would be interesting to see how it reacts with other mods.
I reached out to them, just waiting to hear back. For some reason their stock pulls are awful, a
Cayman S
usually is in the 265-270 range stock at the rear wheels, theirs is at 245'ish. Obviously dynos are different and the only way to know is an independent test on another dyno, thus I am waiting to hear back. I don't post on 6speed online but if someone wants to post a response in the thread directing the seller here that might help get their attention as well.
Spoke to a representative of RSS and they are going to come onboard as a sponsor, evidently we had an exchange previously and now they want to follow up. In our brief conversations without having seen the part I was told that it isn't just a plastic T like the factory piece but has a divider to divert airflow in a smooth fashion so there is less turbulence in the intake and thus more air getting into the engine and ultimately more power. If they come onboard we will likely do an article, dyno test, etc.
Nice chart. hope it's NOT the 'worst' of the stock and the 'best' of the Plenum. Somewhat comforted by the fact that the Plenum was stronger even in higher ambient temperatures (unless I'm not reading the chart incorrectly).
This is becoming a slippery slope, all these mods. I just keep getting sucked in! The guy in this article was full-on mod monster. BTW, he also chose the

I've been WAITING for these guys to make a plenum for the
Cayman S
.
They've had great results with the 911's. This'll definitely be the first mod I get.
Right, I was wondering if it was a misprint or they just don't know. Anyway, I would wait and see, let a few people try it out first, and then if the price is right I would pull the trigger for some more ponies. It’s never enough.
Chaseman
I noticed... and assumed they might have meant "Boxster". Not sure if the intake works on that model as well... with he 3.2l. But obviously, they would want to develop for as wide a market as possible.

Any update on any futher discussion or info?
The Plenums aren't ready yet there was a flaw in the first casting they are getting a new set made not sure how long it will be exactly but nothing to test yet, nothing to buy yet. As for TPC we should have our 2 part RTR episodes up that will answer some of your questions with more to come.
I talked to TPC last week and they are still saying the kit should be available by late summer. I've got a wedding to go to in DC on the 18th of August and they said trying to schedule an install then would be cutting it close.
Anyone know if the intake can have harmful effects on the engine? A gain of 25hp for around 1000k is a good trade off in my opinion. And im guessing warranty is out of the door.
Dont know if you noticed the ambient temps during the runs one of them was 98 and the other was 104 degrees, those kind of air temps plus dyno cal could cause this
11 hp isn't really much as far as real day-to-day performance goes but if the number for an
unmodified
Cayman is closer to the 20 hp talked about then they will sell tons of these. I confess I still don't really understand how this works but am looking forward to more real data including downsides if any.
I believe the orientation of the throttlebody is also making a big difference. rule of thumb, from what I've heard aerospace engineers at nasa say is the closer the TB to the intake manifold the better throttle response will be. even though the air intake might be farther the pressure will build up better. when the TB valve opens air gets sucked into the intake manifold with greater volume/velocity
GPS
(grams per second). sounds right to me.
I dont think many will care about the throttle response as it pretty good now as is.
Actually I think that design can be improved a lot more. It only half way between a "T" and a "Y" shape. Needs to be much more "Y" shaped.
You also have to be careful that one side is not favored more than the other side. The inside should be very smooth and polished.
They have been selling these for Boxsters for a while.
I asked about Caymans about 6-8 months ago and they did not know, but a guy at this site quoted "the imminently available IPD plenum" as a relatively cheap "significant HP gain and modest efficiency gain". I was looking at one for my wife's Boster s. Now if we can get it, I'll go for a group buy. Evidently they are more efficient in channeling the air - the "Y" is better than a "T" for the flow (according the the engineers that work for me, thye may be trying toplease the Boss and his new toy).
Please keep me posted,
MISpuds
Even if you don’t care for improved throttle response, it’s still a nice improvement you get (at least I got).
The inside is specially coated, so extremely smooth.
