Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran a fabspeed / tubi with straight thru pipes (no cats) - the results on the dyno were very poor.

I also ran my milltek with no cats (snigger) for a while - not that I knew until it actually broke down.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

What do you guys think? Has anyone tried it? Would horsepower be lost? How would someone go about this, from 2nd cat or 4th. Let's get this thread going. I am sure the sound would be amazing.

POST 2Original post

This has been discussed once or twice. I believe articsilver tried it amidst his 9ff troubles and found it lost horsepower.

POST 3Original post

I ran a fabspeed / tubi with straight thru pipes (no cats) - the results on the dyno were very poor. Frankly we concluded that the engine (contrary to the 911) likes back-pressure in form of cats in the headers. It sounded very pure but the gains were half what you would expect. Cats in the headers seemed to cure this problem. I also ran my milltek with no cats (snigger) for a while - not that I knew until it actually broke down. Sound difference was not great - a little gruffer I guess. Moral in the story is dont bother - it will bring tears to the eyes of your bank manager.

POST 4Original post

I think the sound would bring the LEOs in your direction very quickly probably breaking the sound laws in every state Unwanted attention ...
