I thought I read somewhere that you changed your exhaust from the Miltek.

According to the new G-Tech Pro I bought, I have run several 0-60 runs under 5 seconds (best was 4.63) without dropping the clutch at 4,000+rpm.

I think with a couple of slicks, you might run 12.5's.

In June I was running the 2.5mi course at Heartland Park in under 2 mins consistently.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm curious how much it costs to have a 12 second
cayman
I know this car wasn't made or isn't praised for the straight line acceleration, but I am curious what are the mods and costs to get a
Cayman S
to run mid/high 12's?
I noticed a few people run these times on this forum so please share.

Plug in the numbers and you'll see about how much hp you'll need for the times you want. Then pick your mods accordingly.
Actually, that gizmo is surprisingly accurate. If you key in 3150lb and 13.3s (Road&Track's 1/4mi time), it says 264hp, which is right on the money. To get to 12s it says you'd need 365hp or so, which is 410 FWHP. To get this you will need a well-tuned X51 or forced induction. Or, more economically, trade the CS for a C6.
With Intake tuning, ECU tuning and Exhaust tuning you can get into the 12's, you can make mid 12's with a really really good
launch
and really really good shifts and some luck sprinkled in for good measure.
Agree. My CS is second after KmanS in dragtimes.com. Similar mods too. Maybe the ECU flash does help a bit (est 0.2 sec), even without it, I manage 12.7 without a problem. I think with a couple of slicks, you might run 12.5's.
Add a turbo, and you are in low 11.s
Add NOS too, and you are in the 10's
If you want less than 10's, either you need a much bigger engine, or get rid of at least 500 lbs, plus all the above.
But then again, our crocs are no dragsters.
Here is a list of RETAIL prices of what K-Man S put on his CS, I hope this is what you were looking for:

Modding the CS
So what's K-man's 0-60? Coco, is yours really 4.4s? Are those numbers just based on the exhaust and cpu mods? How long have you had those mods on and have you had any problems since they were installed?
Are you guys (Kman, Coco) considering a turbo mod? Especially that TPC turbo mod that's due out soon. What do you think your specs will be once you add the turbo.
I'm considering making my CS more potent but am concerned about reliability problems due to the mods.
I have similar mods with no real problems except for the CEL light now and then (O2 Sensor). I have FabSpeed looking into this now... The car is like a Porsche should be and drives like a real performance sports car. I am told it may rival a GT3 round the track.
It's not that difficult if you don't actually own the
Cayman
you're testing.....
I'm sure they beat the snot out of it. If you view the
Road & Track Data Sheet
, it indicates that they are doing a 4,500 RPM clutch drop.
I think their exact words were:
According to the new G-Tech Pro I bought, I have run several 0-60 runs under 5 seconds (best was 4.63) without dropping the clutch at 4,000+rpm. I have been slipping it a little (haven't smelt any burnt clutch yet this way). When I tried high RPM launches, the clutch seemed much unhappier! My car is bone stock BTW.
If I don't
launch
right I end up mid to upper 5s.

The latest K-Man S mods
So K-Man, have you found a solution to the CE light problem? What's your latest mod configuration? I thought I read somewhere that you changed your exhaust from the Miltek. Have your track times improved at all?
Just want to know the real potential of the CS. I'm still thinking of modding but don't know if I should do your config or save up for the x51 in a year or two.
I don't have any CE problem after installing the Softronic Snap-Flash, it corrects the O2 sensor readings from the headers and race cats. I'm on my third exhaust at the moment and my track times have improved a fair amount since this topic was originally started.
Some of that is me, some is the car, suspension and TBD helped get the times down most recently. There is a lot of potential in the stock 3.4L motor, but obviously more in the larger motors. You can actually apply an X51 kit to the 3.4L motor, one of the race teams in Germany did that.
Latest mod config
Come on, don't hold back:
What's the current config?
1.)EVO intake
2.)Miltek headers + ??? exhaust.
3.)Softronic snap flash.
Of the three exhausts, which did you prefer in performance and sound (or were they all the same brand?)
What are the latest track times?
Ok you know that's listed in my Registry listing right? You can click on my profile and get that.
Here is a recap:
1) De-Snork
2) EVO V-Flow intake with dirty filter (needs cleaned)
3) Snapflash ECU flash
4) Capristo headers and full exhaust with electronics
5) Quaife TSB differntial
6)
Bilstein
PSS Damptronic suspension
There are other mods as well for various occasions like track wheels and tires, harness bar,
GT3
seats, etc.
In June I was running the 2.5mi course at Heartland Park in under 2 mins consistently. The track was recently changed and I have not established new best times for my car yet but talking with others the new track config shaved at least 3 seconds off most people's times. (Less turns more straights)
