Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wondered if anyone can help. Do you know if a 964 steering rack is the same as the 993 unit? Any help much appreciated

POST 2Original post

It is not the same part number. I assume you want to know if one will fit the other?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is one for sale here that is claimed to fit both 993 and 964??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-993-Power-Steeri...

POST 4Original post

964.347.012.05 is the part number in my PET for the RHD 964. Part .05 will be a slightly later version than the .04 version advertised. 964.347.012.05 is also the part number for the rack fitted to the RHD 993 RS.

POST 5Original post

Why pay that sort of money for a used rack (with unknown history of bumps or knocks and/or by definition worn to some degree) when for a similar price yours can be fully reconditioned?

Richie200 said: There is one for sale here that is claimed to fit both 993 and 964??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-993-Power-Steeri... That looks like it was originally a very well speced 993. What a shame. I've only seen one other in silver with the areo kit fitted and it was on here a couple of years when its proud new owner was showing his new purchase off. Hoep its not the same car.
